RE: Changes on Music Community || Cambios en la comunidad de Música

Hi!
I understand your point perfectly! As a professional musician myself, I have often felt that my most professional works are not valued.
However, there is one aspect that needs to be understood: what makes curation on Hive more complicated. We are on a blockchain whose White Paper establishes principles that guide the type of content that should be rewarded.
The "raw material" that our blockchain works with is text. Content that can be converted into blocks of code is text. Therefore, text is the first ingredient it must have. Videos, audio files, and images are not stored on the platform; only their written links are stored. Based on the concept behind Hive, a video with only a few lines of text is not ideal material for voting.
Of course, many projects often overlook criteria such as this, but we must understand that curation on Hive must follow its guidelines. This issue has been discussed in many fields where "clashes" also occur, such as literature and painting.
Unfortunately, we cannot start with regular curation standards here, but rather with those that correspond to this blockchain.
It's true that one is not always satisfied with the results!
I'm not sure I agree with this. The blockchain is limited in that it only stores text, but the Hive platform can be used to share any type of content, even if it the media is hosted elsewhere. Then it is up to people what they vote on. There are no rules on what deserves votes.
I have been doing what I can to support some amazing musicians who are on Hive. It is not a big audience, but they seem to like the principles it is based on when other platforms are exploiting users. If we can get a few more pro musicians here who will persuade their fans to join too then we have the basis for building something.
I am an amateur musician and I think all music should be welcome here, but we should be aware of what content will bring in more people. Quality does matter.
I agree with you! I'm referring to the curation standards on Hive, which I respect, but don't necessarily agree with...
If there are curation 'standards' then I may not be following them :)
