Tiempos
Yo te miro y recuerdo, de repente,
cuando tan solo éramos dos extraños.
Disto millas de ser alguien huraño,
lo cual abrió camino a tender puentes.
Tendimos sobre nos, manto envolvente,
mismo que sigue cobijando hogaño,
pues se alimenta del amor por años,
habitando el corazón y la mente.
No logro concebir aquellos días,
en que tu rostro resultaba ajeno
y que de tu presencia carecía.
Ahora tengo un lienzo ojimoreno
que acompaña mis pies en travesía,
llenando más de cinco lustros plenos.

I look at you and I remember, suddenly,
when we were just two strangers.
I'm miles away from being sullen,
which paved the way to build bridges.
We laid over us, enveloping cloak,
the same one that continues to shelter us today,
for it feeds on love for years,
inhabiting the heart and mind.
I cannot conceive of those days
when your face was alien to me
and lacked your presence.
Now I have a dark-eyed canvas
that accompanies my feet on a journey,
filling more than five full lustrums.
