Living alone - the necessary risk

Living alone has taught many a great ideal of responsibilities. To be accountable no matter how uncomfortable it may be. It is very necessary to spend some years living absolutely alone in order to figure yourself out, away from everybody in order to have peace of mind to think deeply.

So, if you are living alone here are some tips for you.

Establish a daily routine that includes time for work, rest, and play. This can help you stay organised and focused. Do not stay in bed all day, especially if you work from home; there is a tendency to turn your bed to your desk.

Make an effort to stay in touch with friends and family through regular phone calls, video chats, or in-person visits.
Worst case, have someone who chats or calls you every 24 hours. This is also for your safety in case they need to raise an alarm about something. If you use an iPhone and have someone you are close with, you can share your live location with the person at all times.

Living alone can be stressful, so take care of your physical and mental health. Engage in activities that bring you joy and help you relax. Sing in the shower and shake your rusty waist. If you don't have a song, sing "Na our mama be this ooo we no get another one…”

Cooking for one can be challenging, but learning to meal prep and cook simple meals can save you time and money. Plus, it affords you the opportunity to keep your kitchen clean. Because if you're always eating takeout, your burner or other utensils may begin to rust.

Take necessary precautions to ensure your safety and security, especially women. Do not allow any random person to visit you at home. If anybody is coming to see you, ensure another person close to you knows the person and who they are, at the very least.
If you carry somebody from a dating site, use a hotel and not your home.

Living alone can be quiet, so learn to appreciate the silence and use it to your advantage. Read, meditate, or engage in hobbies that bring you peace.
Be watchful about eating too much out of boredom before you start preaching, "I just drank water and added". Thief, we know you wake up at 2 AM to chop semo and Egusi soup.

Keep your living space organised and tidy to reduce stress and make cleaning easier. Don't scatter your used clothes all over the place because soon you will start repeating clothes without washing them.

Living alone can lead to a sedentary lifestyle, so find ways to stay active, such as joining a gym, taking online fitness classes, or going for walks. If you prefer going for walks in the neighbourhood, observe your area very well and be sure nobody is monitoring your moves.

Living alone means you'll be responsible for managing your finances, so create a budget, track your expenses, and make smart financial decisions.

Be careful who you tell that you're living alone. Some people are professional squatters. They never have their place, but they always have food and a roof over their head. They will never contribute anything to the house, and once you get tired of them, some will emotionally blackmail you till they find another friend to live off of.

Try to have a small first aid box at home that contains paracetamol and ibuprofen etc

These are really nice tips, I lived alone in my final year at sch. I would say I practiced all this tips but then I liked having my privacy and my own space.
