Blackmoor's Wild Elf and Trickster - Splinterlands Art Contest 360

Saludos queridos amigos de Splinterlands!

El día de hoy he venido a presentar mi nueva entrada al concurso de Arte de Splinterlands esta vez para la ronda 360, este dibujo tiene un buen tiempo desde que lo comencé de hecho era para presentarlo hace dos rondas atrás, pero siempre se me presentaba algo que retraso hasta hoy su presentación, en esta oportunidad he dibujado a dos habitantes de las cuencas de Blackmoor, una Elfa salvaje y un Sátiro embaucador, a continuación les mostrare un poco del proceso de creación, espero me acompañen.

Greetings, dear friends of Splinterlands!

Today I am here to present my new entry for the Splinterlands Art Contest, this time for round 360. I started this drawing a while ago and actually intended to submit it two rounds ago, but something always came up that delayed its submission until today. This time, I have drawn two inhabitants of the Blackmoor basins, a Wild Elf and a Trickster Satyr. Below, I will show you a little bit of the creation process. I hope you will join me.

Como bien saben, para este concurso desde hace un tiempo prefiero dibujar mas de un personaje porque representa para mi un reto mayor y me permite practicar poses y situaciones mas complejas, en esta oportunidad estaba viendo entre todas las cartas del juego y pude ver que compartían el lugar de origen por lo cual decidí retratarlos a ambos en su espacio común, Wild Elf, según su Lore son una comunidad bastante aislada, que prefiere la compañía de las hadas y de los habitantes mas salvajes de su territorio.
Mientras que el Sátiro es un embaucador, busca a los viajantes mas confianzudos, y luego de tocar el laúd para ellos y ser amistoso, procede a dormirlos con un dardo desde su laúd y robar todas sus pertenencias.

As you know, for this contest, I have been preferring to draw more than one character because it represents a greater challenge for me and allows me to practice more complex poses and situations. This time, I was looking through all the cards in the game and noticed that they shared the same place of origin, so I decided to portray them both in their common space, Wild Elf. According to their lore, they are a fairly isolated community that prefers the company of fairies and the wildest inhabitants of their territory.
Meanwhile, the Satyr is a trickster who seeks out the most trusting travelers. After playing the lute for them and being friendly, he proceeds to put them to sleep with a dart from his lute and steal all their belongings.

Para ilustrar una situación entre ambos, pensé en situarlo en un escenario poco probable, mientras el sátiro ayuda alguien mas, en este caso la Elfa salvaje conoce bastante bien la reputación del sátiro, pero un sentimiento de fraternidad y la necesidad de ayuda para poder moverse en medio del paraje helado la lleva a confiar en el, para llevarla hasta terreno seguro, en su picara mirada se puede ver la confianza. El sátiro piensa obviamente que con este acto la Elfa salvaje le estará debiendo un favor, el cual se cobrara de seguro.

To illustrate a situation between the two, I thought of placing them in an unlikely scenario, while the satyr helps someone else. In this case, the wild elf is well aware of the satyr's reputation, but a feeling of brotherhood and the need for help to move through the frozen landscape leads her to trust him to take her to safety. In her mischievous gaze, you can see her trust. The satyr obviously thinks that with this act, the wild elf will owe him a favor, which he will surely collect.

Para el color tome los colores presentes en el arte original, aunque modifique un poco, la saturación o la iluminación en algunos casos para adaptarlo al tipo de paleta que estaría usando en el fondo de la imagen, pinte cada color en una capa diferente para poder luego colorear con mucha mas facilidad.

For the color, use the colors present in the original artwork, although you may modify the saturation or lighting in some cases to adapt it to the type of palette you would be using in the background of the image. Paint each color on a different layer so that you can then color much more easily.

Lo siguiente fue el coloreado, en primer lugar comencé definiendo la zona desde la cual provendría la luz y en primer lugar comencé a definir las sombras, para esto use un tono violeta, y usando el efecto de capa Multiplicar sobre todas las capas de color definí la zona de sombra sobre toda la figura, esta técnica la uso pocas veces pero es una forma rápida de lograr uniformidad en las sombras y variedad en los tonos.
Luego aplique la misma técnica esta vez para dibujar las luces y después comencé a definir los detalles por separado para cada un en cada capa de color.

The next step was coloring. First, I defined the area from which the light would come and began to define the shadows. For this, I used a violet tone and applied the Multiply layer effect to all the color layers to define the shadow area over the entire figure. I rarely use this technique, but it is a quick way to achieve uniformity in the shadows and variety in the tones.
Then I applied the same technique, this time to draw the highlights, and then I began to define the details separately for each one on each color layer.

Luego comencé a definir el fondo, mi primera idea era hacer un paisaje muy colorido sobre un camino de hierva verde y flores por doquier, pero por alguna razón no me terminaba de gustar y cuando estaba dando los detalles finales decidí comenzar de nuevo, esta vez por un paraje nevado, mantuve un poco el dibujo inicial solo cambie de estación, los nuevos arboles eran solo troncos sin hojas, solo nieve en sus ramas.

Then I began to define the background. My first idea was to create a very colorful landscape with a green grass path and flowers everywhere, but for some reason I didn't like it, and when I was adding the final details, I decided to start over, this time with a snowy landscape. I kept the initial drawing, but changed the season. The new trees were just trunks without leaves, with only snow on their branches.

Luego comencé a darle mas detalles a este nuevo paisaje, en el fondo dibuje una pequeña cabaña con una chimenea humeante y detrás de esta un pico nevado con un brillante cielo azul decorado de nubes, en el suelo dibuje algunos pequeños brotes de hierva resurgiendo entre el helado suelo, señal que el invierno esta por pasar, este nuevo paisaje hizo destacar mucho mas la figura y me gusto bastante, aunque ahora que veo ambos, el paisaje colorido también me gusta.

Then I began to add more details to this new landscape. In the background, I drew a small cabin with a smoking chimney and behind it a snow-capped peak with a bright blue sky decorated with clouds. On the ground, I drew some small shoots of grass sprouting up from the frozen soil, a sign that winter is coming to an end. This new landscape made the figure stand out much more, and I liked it a lot. Although now that I see both, I also like the colorful landscape.

Y finalmente, sin mas que agregar esta es mi ilustración de la semana, me gusta mucho como lucen estas dos personajes juntos, soy consiente de que existen mas cartas de personajes que se ubican en esta región de Splinterlands, quizás deba dibujarlos todos juntos alguna vez, en fin, espero que esta ilustración sea de su agrado!

And finally, without further ado, here is my illustration of the week. I really like how these two characters look together. I am aware that there are more character cards located in this region of Splinterlands, so maybe I should draw them all together sometime. Anyway, I hope you like this illustration!
