As a huge fan of Tim Burton and his unmistakable style, I could fill this post with six, seven, or even eight of his incredible films to watch on Halloween. After all, he has a catalog full of works that I love and have enjoyed time and time again. But this time, I've decided on three films that I consider truly special and that fit perfectly for this season of mystery, fantasy, and a touch of darkness. I don't know why, but this year I've developed a greater appreciation for these festivities, which, although not strictly part of our Latin culture, we have made our own because we fundamentally enjoy them.
The three films that I “highly recommend” are three very different stories, but they share that unique and magical stamp that makes Tim Burton's universe unmistakable:

Pero esta vez me he decidido por tres películas que considero verdaderamente especiales y que encajan a la perfección para esta época de misterio, fantasía y un toque oscuro, y es que no sé por qué, pero este año le te agarrado un mayor aprecio a estas festividades que, aunque no son propiamente de nuestra cultura latina, pues la hemos hecho nuestras porque fundamentalmente nos divierten.
Las tres películas que "Recomiendo Altamente" son tres historias muy distintas, pero que comparten ese sello único y mágico que hace que el universo de Tim Burton sea inconfundible:

Victor must marry Victoria, an arranged marriage set up by their families, but he doesn't know her. Nervous about learning the vows he must say to her, he practices in the forest and places the ring on what appears to be a branch on the ground, but it turns out to be the hand of Emily, a dead woman with a sad story.

The film is truly beautiful, and although it may not have been as famous as other Tim Burton films, as the years go by, it is gaining more fans because of its beautiful story and excellent stop-motion animation.
El Cadáver de la Novia es una historia de amor, dentro de un contexto tenebroso y desesperante porque vemos a Víctor preocupado por regresar a su mundo, ya que él está vivo. Pero la historia de Emily cuando estaba viva es tan conmovedora que logré empatizar con ella. The performances were excellent, but I must especially highlight those of Johnny Depp and Eva Green (the witch), who became their characters 100%. Their expressions, movements, and entire performances were on another level. It is clear that they are not only great professionals, but also have great chemistry between them.
Beyond the aesthetics, “Dark Shadows” presents us with a plot about family, its secrets, and the strength that emerges from them when they must face great adversity. Tim Burton manages to create an immersive visual experience, perfect for those of us who enjoy stories where gothic and black comedy intertwine in a unique way.
Esta película donde tenemos a Johnny Deep como Barnabas, deslumbra por su extravagante escenografía, efectos especiales y paleta de colores de estilo gótico, con el sello Tim Burton. Los vestuarios son espectaculares y cuidadosamente elegidos para cada personaje. Las actuaciones fueron excelentes, pero no podría dejar de destacar especialmente las de Johnny Deep y Eva Green (la bruja) que se convirtieron en sus personajes al 100%, sus expresiones, movimientos, toda la interpretación fue de otro nivel, se nota que no solo son grandes profesiones sino que también hay mucha química entre ellos.
Más allá de la estética, "Sombras Tenebrosas" nos presenta una trama sobre la familia, sus secretos y la fortaleza que surge de ellos cuando deben enfrentar grandes adversidades. Tim Burton logra crear una experiencia visual envolvente, perfecta para quienes disfrutamos de relatos donde el gótico y la comedia negra se entrelazan de manera única.

Sally is Jack's love interest. She is very intelligent, has visions or premonitions, and wants to protect Jack and Christmas as well.

Of my three recommendations, this is the oldest film. It is an impressive stop-motion animation, dark, magical, and with black humor, which is Tim Burton's trademark. There is an important message about identity and the desire to find a purpose for ourselves.
Although Jack Skellington is very narcissistic and arrogant, he undergoes significant character development and personal growth. Every time I watch this film, I understand it from a different perspective. It allows you to analyze each character's performance, and the love story is simply unforgettable. The scene where both characters confess their feelings for each other on the iconic Spiral Hill is a moving and iconic moment.
De mis 3 Recomendaciones, ésta es la película más vieja, es una animación con Stop Motion impresionante, oscura, mágica y con humor negro como es el sello de Tim Burton, hay un mensaje importante sobre la identidad y el deseo que encontrar un propósito para nosotros.
Aunque Jack Skillington es muy narcisista y arrogante, tiene un arco de personaje o crecimiento personal importante, cada vez que veo esta película la entiendo desde otro punto de vista, da para analizar las actuaciones de cada personaje, y la historia de amor es simplemente inolvidable, y es que la escena donde ambos personajes se confiesan mutuamente sus sentimientos sobre la icónica Colina Espiral es un momento conmovedor y emblemático.

De estás somos he visto sombras tenebrosas, pero me han dicho que las otras dos que recomiendas son muy buenas. Con jack llegue a ver otras pero no he Sido muy fanática de este tipo de películas que evocan a halloween.
Ahora de Tim mi preferida es su película con más luz: se llama el gran pez, conserva ese toque gótico pero tiene más cómodo y luces.

Johnny Deep siempre será una excelente opción para las películas de Tim Burton porque hacen un excelente equipo, al igual que Helena Boham Carter.

I have only seen corpse bride and I liked it so much. It’s almost the end of Halloween month and I haven’t seen a single scary movie or even thriller. Alright, I will add the rest two to my watchlist and see them tomorrow
