Review: His & Hers 2026

Hola amigos, ¿cómo les va? Antes que nada, ¡feliz año nuevo para todos en esta comunidad! Tenía ya un tiempo sin publicar por acá y, básicamente, se debe a que no había encontrado una serie que lograra atraparme de verdad. Durante estos últimos meses estuve muy enfocada en repasar mis series policiales favoritas, viendo temporadas completas, así que esta vez sentía que necesitaba algo fresco. Vi que esta producción tenía excelentes críticas y, finalmente, me animé a darle una oportunidad.

Una de las primeras cosas que analicé fue el número de capítulos. Para ser una miniserie, el formato de seis episodios me pareció ideal. A veces, las series demasiado largas que no logran enganchar desde el inicio me hacen perder el interés rápidamente. Me ha pasado con recomendaciones que vi de principio a fin solo por compromiso, para ver cómo cerraban, resultando en una verdadera pérdida de tiempo. Pero en esta ocasión debo decir todo lo contrario: el tiempo que invertí en "His & Hers" valió muchísimo la pena.

Debo confesarles que la vi completa en un solo día; la trama me enganchó de tal forma que no podía despegarme de la pantalla hasta entender qué estaba pasando. Tenía todos los elementos que siempre busco en una buena historia: acción, drama profundo, suspenso constante, intriga y una trama familiar compleja. Además, traía un "bono adicional" que no esperaba.

Hello friends, how are you doing? First of all, happy new year to everyone in this community! I haven't posted here in a while, mainly because I hadn't found a series that really grabbed me. Over the last few months, I've been very focused on rewatching my favorite crime series, watching entire seasons, so this time I felt like I needed something fresh. I saw that this production had excellent reviews, and I finally decided to give it a try.
One of the first things I looked at was the number of episodes. For a miniseries, the six-episode format seemed ideal to me. Sometimes, series that are too long and don't hook me from the start make me lose interest quickly. This has happened to me with recommendations that I watched from beginning to end just out of obligation, to see how they ended, resulting in a real waste of time. But on this occasion, I must say the opposite: the time I invested in “His & Hers” was well worth it.
I must confess that I watched it all in one day; the plot hooked me so much that I couldn't tear myself away from the screen until I understood what was going on. It had all the elements I always look for in a good story: action, deep drama, constant suspense, intrigue, and a complex family plot. Plus, it came with an “added bonus” that I didn't expect.

Como saben, cada película o serie que veo me deja una enseñanza, y esta no fue la excepción. Me hizo reflexionar sobre los sacrificios extremos que estamos dispuestas a hacer como madres y cómo la venganza, en ocasiones, se convierte en la única arma que tenemos para intentar sanar el dolor causado a nuestros hijos.

Quizá algunos piensen que buscar venganza es algo malo, pero cuando ocurren tragedias que impactan tu vida y la de los tuyos de manera tan brutal, ese sentimiento termina dándote un poco de aliento y una sensación de justicia por mano propia. Con esto me quedo de la serie. Además, como periodista que soy, el hecho de que la protagonista compartiera mi profesión me conectó de inmediato. Sentía como propia su necesidad de retomar su carrera y volver al ruedo tras haber pasado por un drama familiar que le cambió la vida.

Solo quien ha vivido el trauma de perder a un hijo puede entender cómo ese dolor transforma tu existencia; no siempre es para bien, y sientes que pierdes la brújula por completo. Esto es precisamente lo que vemos en la protagonista, quien junto a su esposo atraviesa ese duelo insoportable. Sin embargo, en la trama no los vemos como la típica pareja, porque en realidad están separados.

As you know, every movie or series I watch teaches me something, and this one was no exception. It made me reflect on the extreme sacrifices we are willing to make as mothers and how revenge sometimes becomes the only weapon we have to try to heal the pain caused to our children.

Some may think that seeking revenge is wrong, but when tragedies occur that impact your life and that of your loved ones so brutally, that feeling ends up giving you a little encouragement and a sense of justice in your own hands. That's what I take away from the series. Also, as a journalist myself, the fact that the main character shared my profession immediately connected me to her. I felt her need to resume her career and get back in the game after going through a life-changing family drama as my own.

Only those who have experienced the trauma of losing a child can understand how that pain transforms your existence; it's not always for the better, and you feel like you've completely lost your bearings. This is precisely what we see in the protagonist, who, along with her husband, goes through that unbearable grief. However, in the plot, we don't see them as the typical couple, because in reality, they are separated.

Llevaban un año sin verse; tras la pérdida de su hija, ella simplemente desapareció de la vida de su esposo, como si el huir pudiera tapar un dolor tan inmenso.Todo cambia cuando en su pueblo natal ocurre un crimen.

Ella ve aquí la oportunidad perfecta para retomar su carrera periodística y volver al trabajo de campo. Su esposo, quien es el detective del pueblo, queda a cargo de la investigación de esa muerte sospechosa. Lo interesante es que el espectador no descubre que ellos son esposos sino hasta mucho más adelante, y es en ese momento cuando muchas piezas del rompecabezas cobran sentido.

A medida que avanzan los episodios, ocurre una serie de muertes en el pueblo y todas parecen tener un hilo conductor: el pasado de la protagonista. Lo que vincula estos hechos me mantuvo en tensión constante. Incluso en la primera muerte, su esposo, a pesar de ser el policía encargado, llega a mostrarse como sospechoso ante nuestros ojos.

They hadn't seen each other for a year; after the loss of their daughter, she simply disappeared from her husband's life, as if running away could cover up such immense pain. Everything changes when a crime occurs in her hometown.

She sees this as the perfect opportunity to resume her journalism career and return to field work. Her husband, who is the town detective, is put in charge of investigating the suspicious death. Interestingly, the viewer does not discover that they are husband and wife until much later, and it is at that moment that many pieces of the puzzle fall into place.

As the episodes progress, a series of deaths occur in the town, and they all seem to have a common thread: the protagonist's past. What links these events kept me in constant suspense. Even in the first death, her husband, despite being the police officer in charge, comes across as a suspect in our eyes.

Es aquí donde otros personajes cobran una relevancia fascinante, especialmente la madre de la protagonista y la compañera del policía. La cosa se pone cada vez mejor y no te permite apartar la vista.Esta serie me enseñó que el pasado siempre te sigue y termina impactando tu presente.

Nos muestra cómo las mentiras y las medias verdades se vuelven parte de tu realidad y determinan tu futuro. Venganza, amor de madre, el vacío por la muerte de una hija, intereses económicos e intriga... todo juega un papel clave en esta historia donde el final no es, ni remotamente, lo que esperas.

This is where other characters take on a fascinating relevance, especially the protagonist's mother and the police officer's partner. Things get better and better, and you can't take your eyes off the screen. This series taught me that the past always follows you and ends up impacting your present.

It shows us how lies and half-truths become part of your reality and determine your future. Revenge, a mother's love, the emptiness left by the death of a daughter, financial interests, and intrigue... everything plays a key role in this story where the ending is not, even remotely, what you expect.
