We should always have at least a 1 long term goal even if we don't have short term ones currently. The long term can give us a purpose.

I've been trying to keep my long term goals pretty specific, and limit them to what I have control over... like "write in my journal at least three times per week,"* or maybe "go to the gym twice a week."
I avoid long term goals that are dependent on externals because it has become just way too uncertain.
