An epidemic, a cyclone, a joint disaster.
Warning: Cuba is under the control of a totalitarian state with the only objective of keeping the power at any cost. This report will show you the actual situation in Cuba, that one that the state propaganda tries to deny.
I am really taking time and effort to do this post. Time because just in few hours a cat. 5 hurricaine will pass over the eastern part of my country in wich my city are. Effort because after 3 days of fevers I am pretty week. Let's digg into it.
There is a epidemic in Cuba. Actually, probably more than one but the collapse of the medical system prevents us know for sure.
Zika, Chikungunya and Dengue are three of the most extended arboviruses afecting the population. With Dengue with four officials deaths, the real number is higher, but Given the lack of evidence and the lack of transparency from government medical authorities, we will never know the true impact. They only count deaths by dengue if happen in their facilities and if is already diagnose at the seven day. If somebody die before that seven day test is not part of the dengue stadistics deaths. Similar what they did with Covid when people die due complications of the Covid but never enter the stadistics because they were no longer positive to the PCR.
The real problem is that there is not a real plan or actions from the government to attack this wave of infections. Garbage accumulates in corners and streets and lies are spread from the state to pretend they're doing something. The feeling of abandonment is general.
In this scenario, with a population diminished by the hunger and the sickness a potential catastrophic hurricane is heading to us. The last big one was in 2012, he destroy the city and just was Cat. 2, this is Cat. 5.
If the government is incapable of guarantee food and construction materials in normal times, after this when crops will be complete destroy is easy to assume that eastern Cuba will be need a lot of humanitarian Aid.
Economy
The value of 1 dollar is 490 Cuban pesos (CUP). Now the Cuba minimum pension is around 6.18 USD, the minimum wage is 4.28 USD, and the average salary is 12.85 dollars; all amounts are on a monthly basis.

The Government implement a Plan to correct distorstions and boost the economy. A euphemistic name for keeping doing the same with more intensity. This mean, more control over state companies, more pressure, limits and overwacth to privates business and keep parasitizing money from foreing investors or politics allies. All while reduce the social spend
who would have thought that after criticizing Milei so much they would follow in his footsteps? Surprise.
Social
Lack of medicines, high cost of food, and political repression are the constant in Cuba. When this fact changes I will report it.
