A Funny Situation That Made Me Laugh At Myself
So many funny things have happened in my life that could probably fill the pages of book. But one that comes to mind right now, is a recent situation from last weekend.
My dad and I had an event to attend, so we had to wake up early to prepare for the day. He had asked when I’d be ready, and I said he wouldn't need to yell my name after 9:00 a.m. He gave me that doubtful look that screamed, “Are you sure?” I laughed and simply reassured him with confidence.
Then, I sat on my bed, having my quiet time when I felt the urge to watch a video on my phone. I told myself it was just going to be one, but one video became two, and two became three. Before I knew it, time had flown. When I finally checked my clock, I realized we had only an hour left to the start of the event!
I quickly rushed through my chores and made a simple breakfast. My dad was getting dressed when he saw me in my night wear. He gave me another stare that screamed, “I shouldn’t have believed you!” LOL.

I was finally ready by 8:45 a.m, and I got really anxious because I thought my dad would be upset that I kept him waiting. Immediately I stepped out, I apologized about ten times before realizing that he was smiling. This made me laugh at myself so much because I felt I had panicked for little reason.
Just when we were about to leave, I realized I’d forgotten two important items inside the house, so I had to run back and forth to retrieve them. At this point, my dad couldn’t help but laugh so hard. He kept shaking his head and it was clear he thought I was acting like a disorganized kid in Jss1 —and truly, I was.
On our way to the event, I kept trying to defend myself, insisting there was a reason he wasn’t upset that I kept him waiting. I mean, we both knew that was my own agenda to say he low-key wanted more time for himself too, so we laughed it off.
Writing this now, I’m still laughing at the way I dashed in and out of doors and the swiftness with which I carried out my chores that morning. It was truly a crazy morning, and I hope that next time, I won't let distractions put me in such a funny situation again.

It's currently 3:15 am here and this is my response to the midnight letters prompt #16. You can find the details here if you'd like to write with us at midnight.
