Estuve escuchando la entrevista de Miguel Granados, un humorista, músico y presentador de radio y televisión argentino que le hace una nota mas personal sobre adiccion y su padecer a Chano Charpentier, un cantante, compositor, poeta y guitarrista argentino, líder de Tan Biónica, banda que escucho con regularidad.

I was listening to the interview of Miguel Granados, an Argentine comedian, musician and radio and television presenter, who gives a more personal interview about addiction and his suffering to Chano Charpentier, an Argentine singer, composer, poet and guitarist, leader of Tan Biónica, a band I listen to regularly.

Los invito a escucharla, y es una conversación hermosa sobre como transitar la drogadicción, y que no importa de que droga hablemos, mayormente criminalizamos la marihuana, pero también el alcohol, la tecnológica, sea cual fuera todas tienen algo que nos destruye. Y me dejan pensando el como la sociedad nos lleva hasta ese grado de consumo, y que no les importa a los que toman esas decisiones que es "lo mejor" para nosotros... mas que consumir en el instante

I invite you to listen to it; it's a beautiful conversation about navigating drug addiction. It doesn't matter which drug we're talking about—we mostly criminalize marijuana, but also alcohol, technology—whatever it is, they all have something that destroys us. And it makes me think about how society leads us to that level of consumption, and how those who make those decisions don't care what's "best" for us... other than consuming in the moment.

Chano cuenta como transita este dolor, y que gracias a la buena compañía logro salir de ahi, contaba como ahora en las juntas de su banda ya no hay alcohol, y no se preguntan el porque, y como vivió esos momentos en "alcohólicos anónimos": (es una comunidad mundial de hombres y mujeres que comparten su experiencia para resolver su problema común con el alcohol y ayudar a otros a lograr y mantener la sobriedad, basándose en los "Doce Pasos" y las "Doce Tradiciones" como guía de recuperación, sin afiliación religiosa o profesional, siendo el único requisito para unirse el deseo de dejar de beber, con reuniones gratuitas y anónimas donde se comparte apoyo mutuo para mantenerse sobrio día a día).

Chano recounts how he navigated this pain, and how thanks to good company he managed to overcome it. He explained how now there is no alcohol at his band's meetings, and they don't question why. He also described how he experienced those moments in "Alcoholics Anonymous": (a worldwide fellowship of men and women who share their experience to solve their common problem with alcohol and help others achieve and maintain sobriety, based on the "Twelve Steps" and "Twelve Traditions" as a guide to recovery, with no religious or professional affiliation, the only requirement for joining being a desire to stop drinking, with free and anonymous meetings where mutual support is shared to stay sober day by day).

Gracias a estos movimientos se puede salir, pero no solamente con esta herramienta que puede ser importante, debemos como sociedad, cumplamos el rol que fuese, amigo, conocido, pareja, familia, acompañar a aquel que la esta pasando mal, y ser un apoyo para poder recuperarse de la mejor manera posible. Thanks to these movements, it's possible to move forward, but not only with this tool, which can be important. As a society, we must fulfill whatever role we play friend, acquaintance, partner, family to accompany those who are going through a difficult time and be a support so they can recover in the best way possible.
