Like when someone recommends an anime to you and you don't watch it because the synopsis and thumbnail don't grab your attention, but then you finally give it a chance and end up loving it—well, that's what happened to me. My sister kept telling me to watch this anime, and I ignored her. Plus, when it first came out, I was watching a lot of others at the same time. Even so, it's never too late, and that's why I'm here to recommend it to you today.

This anime premiered in early 2025, directed by Mitsue Yamazaki and produced by the animation studio MAPPA. It belongs to the genres of romantic comedy, adventure, heroic fantasy, and reverse isekai.
Regarding the plot…
The story follows Natsuko Amasawa, a young animation prodigy who, after directing a massive hit right out of high school, is hailed as an industry genius. Her life is a race against time, dedicated entirely to technical perfection and meeting impossible deadlines. She also has zero social skills and her tact towards others is quite poor. This lack of understanding of relationships hits her even harder when she's assigned her next big project: a romantic comedy film about first love, a completely unfamiliar topic for her.
After several mishaps, she is transported into the story of her favorite anime, which has a tragic fantasy and romance plot. However, being inside it, she has the power to rewrite the script, becoming just another inhabitant of that world. As the story progresses, for the first time, Natsuko will live among people she can't order around and has to learn to socialize, to feel empathy, and, most importantly, to experience that "first love" that eluded her in the real world.
Personal opinion
I didn't have high hopes for it until I saw the anime, because I thought it was just another isekai, but it really surprised me. More than an isekai, it's a metanarrative about artistic creation, a metaphor for creative exhaustion and escapism, which is somewhat ironic coming from MAPPA, since the exploitation of artists in Japan and the meager compensation they receive is no secret. I also like the contrast between the two worlds: in one, there's the coldness of the real world, the claustrophobia of the MAPPA offices before the protagonist's turning point, while in the fantasy world, it feels like a physical relief, not only for Natsuko but for us as well.
The animation is incredible, very vibrant and fluid, typical of what this studio has been delivering, with a beautiful artistic composition that closely mimics a storyboard, immersing you in the world of animation. I love the characters; I feel like you can identify with some of them, especially the protagonist, because I know very well what it's like to have to deliver everything by a deadline, the stress involved, and that the creative process is quite extensive and often unappreciated. It also teaches us something very valuable that applies to everything: "art without soul is just technique." Every work is imbued with the feelings of its creators, and if there's no emotion, it ends up being an empty work.
Positive points…
-Clearly showcases the world of animation, its dark side, and all that it entails.
-Beautiful and fluid animation.
-Masterful Visual Contrast: The aesthetic transition is flawless.
-Subversion of the Isekai genre: Natsuko doesn't just arrive as a hero; she's powerful because she knows the "rules" of that world, but she's weak because her logical tools are useless for dealing with the characters' unpredictable emotions.
Negative points…
-The first act might feel a little rushed.
-You might find the tone very contrasting, as the shift from a heavy psychological drama to a fantasy adventure could be quite a tonal shock for some.
-The ending... it can't be like, "How did they leave me like this?"

This anime didn't seem very appealing to me; I felt it was just another one of those isekai series. Así como cuando te recomienda un anime y tu no lo ves, porque no te llama la atención el resumen de la historia y la imagen en miniatura, pero cuando por fin le das una oportunidad y te termina encantando, bueno, eso me paso. Mi hermana me decía a cada rato ve este anime, y yo no le hacía caso, aunado que, en su momento de estreno, estaba viendo muchos otros simultáneamente, aun así, nunca es tarde y por ello vengo a recomendárselo hoy día.

Este anime fue estrenado a principios del 2025, bajo la dirección de Mitsue Yamazaki y del estudio de animación MAPPA, es de genero comedia romántica, aventura, fantasía heroica e isekai inverso.
En cuanto a la trama…
La historia sigue a Natsuko Amasawa, una joven prodigio en la animación, que, tras dirigir un éxito masivo nada más salir de la secundaria, es aclamada como una genio de la industria; su vida es una carrera contra el reloj, dedicada por completo a la perfección técnica y al cumplimiento de plazos imposibles, aunado que tiene 0 relación social y su tacto hacia los demás es bastante malo. Este hecho de no entender las relaciones le pega mucho más, cuando le asignan su próximo gran proyecto: una película de comedia romántica sobre el primer amor, un tema muy desconocido para ella.
Tras varios percances, es transportada a la historia de su anime favorito, la cual tiene una trama de fantasía y romance bien trágica, pero, al estar dentro de ella tiene el poder de reescribir el guion, convirtiéndose en una habitante más del lugar. A medida que la historia avanza, por primera vez, Natsuko convivirá con personas a las que no puede darles órdenes y tiene que aprender a socializar, a sentir empatía y, lo más importante, a experimentar ese "primer amor" que tanto se le resistía en el mundo real.
Opinión personal
No le tenia mucha fe hasta anime, porque pensaba que era un isekai de más, pero realmente me sorprendió, ya que más que un isekai, es una metanarrativa sobre la creación artística, una metáfora del agotamiento creativo y el escapismo, lo cual resulta algo irónico viniendo de MAPPA, pues no es un secreto la explotación en Japón hacia sus artistas y la poca remuneración que les dan a los mismos. Me gusta también ese contraste entre ambos mundos, en una está la frialdad del mundo real, la claustrofobia de las oficinas de MAPPA antes del giro de la protagonista, mientras que en el de fantasía se sienta como un alivio físico, no solo para Natsuko, sino para nosotros.
La animación es increíble, muy vibrante y fluida, típico de lo que este estudio no has venido entregando, con una composición artística muy hermosa que imita mucho el guion grafico (storyboard) lo cual te hace sumergir en todo lo que se refiere al mundo de la animación. Me encanta sus personajes, siento que, te logras identificar con alguno de ellos, sobre todo con la protagonista, porque sé muy bien lo que es tener que entregar todo a un plazo determinado, el estrés que se vive en ello y que el proceso de creación es bastante extenso y poco apreciado, agregando que nos enseña algo muy valioso y que se aplica en todo: “el arte sin alma es solo técnica” toda obra esta impregnada de los sentimientos de sus creadores y si no hay emoción ello, termina siendo una obra vacía.
Puntos positivos…
-Muestra claramente el mundo de la animación, su lado oscuro y lo que conlleva todo ello.
-Animación hermosa y fluida.
-Contraste Visual Magistral: La transición estética es impecable.
-Subversión del Isekai: Natsuko no llega como un héroe y ya, es poderosa porque conoce las "reglas" de ese mundo, pero es débil porque sus herramientas lógicas no sirven para lidiar con los sentimientos impredecibles de los personajes.
Puntos negativos…
-El primer acto puede llegar a sentirse como un poco apresurado.
-Pueden sentirlo como un tono muy contrastado, pues el cambio de un drama psicológico pesado a una aventura de fantasía puede ser un choque tonal muy fuerte para algunos.
-El final, no puede ser ¿Cómo me dejaron así?

Este anime no se me hacía muy atractivo, sentía que era uno de esos isekais de más, pero, me callo la boca, pues, realmente nos muestra muchos matices de los animadores que no vemos a simple vista, más aún con una que busca ser demasiado perfecta, pero sin alma en sus trabajos, en pocas palabras debía aprender a sentir para poder crear, así que, cuéntame, ¿ya has visto este anime? ¿Qué te pareció?

A mí también me gustó e impresionó muchísimo este anime en su momento. Recuerdo haberla visto en emisión sin mucho que esperar de ella debido a todo lo que leía en internet sobre esta obra. Sin embargo, me encantó bastante su historia, sus personajes, el desarrollo que pasaron cada uno e incluso ese final que tiene.
Y sin mencionar la animación que, como era de esperarse de MAPPA, es de lo mejor. Sinceramente pienso que Zenshu logró pasar muy fácilmente a ser uno de los mejores animes Isekai que he visto en mi vida. Ésa entre mi Top 5 o 7, la verdad.
