Greetings @theanimerealm community...Last week, I was sharing with you the differences between mangas and manwhas, mentioning some examples of both the one and the other, today I want to share with you the first manwha I read as such that, besides having a beautiful illustrated story, contains an attractive story, which, despite not following the light novel where for most is much better, I feel it's not all bad, at least for a small entertaining reading it serves. So without further ado, I leave you a brief review of it and the opinions I have about it.
Who made me a princess (어느 날 공주가 되어버렸다)
Based on the light novel by Plutus, the publisher Redi, in conjunction with illustrator Spoon, brings us a story full of fantasy and drama with a total of 9 volumes, divided into 3 seasons.
As for the plot…
The story is like an isekai, where a young Korean girl is reincarnated as Princess Athanasia of Obelia, a character from the book she read and whose destiny is to die at the hands of her father, Emperor Claude. Being a baby and remembering the whole plot of that novel, she set out to raise money, go unnoticed and thus manage to escape the cruel outcome that awaited her.
Although she already had an idea at the age at which she would meet her father, the beginning of her misfortunes, life gives her another course, their meeting was earlier than expected, so that, due to the circumstances surrounding her, she changed her goal to win her father's favor and survive in the attempt. Will our young princess be able to get out alive and be loved by her father? What will be in store for her later? For this, she will have the help of other characters, who will guide her on her way.
Personal opinion
First and foremost, what I love about this story is undoubtedly the beautiful drawing that Spoon portrays, the details, the scenery, the costumes, the eyes, everything is extremely clean and that makes it stand out among the other manwhas, of course there are others with a drawing just as beautiful and with a better executed narrative. However, the story at the time was quite popular, or well, still continues to give much to talk about and the criticisms that were generated were rude, if not for not following the original novel and give enough freedom in the outcome, among other details, that almost the general public, did not end up convincing them.
But, here I'm not going to focus so much on those differences because I haven't really read the light novel from head to toe, only spoilers of the same that ended up clearing up certain doubts that, many times, manwhas come to omit. As for the story and its characters, it is really attractive and I love that each one has its own depth, especially those closer to the protagonist, how the plot introduces us to their past and the emotions they are experiencing, enriches it in a way; although, if I would have liked to follow a detail of the light novel (I know I said I did not want to compare) is that I love Lucas (a relevant character, very relevant in the story) and I really would have liked that more detailed protagonism than the one you show us in the written story.
A year ago, I think, they announced its anime version but in donghua, that is to say from China, I would have loved it to be animated by the Japanese, like Doctor Elise: The Royal Lady with the Lamp, although it was not as good as its manwha, the effects and others, I like more how the Japanese do it, although there are Chinese studio houses that are good, but when I saw the trailer of who made me a princess, it lacks a lot of detail. So far, I don't know if the donghua has been released, I don't think so, even so, if it is released, I may see it and they may even animate the novel as such, I will just have to wait.
Positive points…
-A beautiful art.
-Well-executed character development, especially that of father and daughter.
-An attractive plot.
Negative points…
-A bit slow paced, especially to reach the climax.
-Many free changes, which caused the consistency of the light novel story to be lost.
Score I give it…

Although the art is beautiful and the story is appealing, more for being the first manwha I read, there really are better ones, both in plot and art, so, its popularity more than anything else was based on the novel, which made the free change they gave to the comic decline considerably.

La semana pasada, les estaba compartiendo las diferencias entre mangas y manwhas, mencionando algunos ejemplos tanto del uno como el otro, hoy quiero compartirles el primer manwha que leí como tal que, además de tener una historia ilustrada hermosa, contiene un relato atractivo, que, a pesar de no seguir la novela ligera donde para la mayoría es mucho mejor, siento que no esta del todo mal, por lo menos para una pequeña lectura entretenida sirve. Así que sin más que agregar, les dejo una breve reseña de la misma y las opiniones que tengo al respecto.
Who made me a princess (어느 날 공주가 되어버렸다)
Basada en la novela ligera de Plutus, la editorial Redi, en conjunto a la ilustradora Spoon, nos traen una historia llena de fantasía y drama con un total de 9 volúmenes, dividido en 3 temporadas.
En cuanto a la trama…
La historia es como un isekai, donde una joven coreana reencarna en la princesa Athanasia de Obelia, un personaje del libro que leyó y que su destino es morir a manos de su padre, el Emperador Claude. Al ser bebe y recordar toda la trama de esa novela, se propuso a reunir dinero, pasar desapercibida y así lograr escapar del cruel desenlace que le esperaba.
A pesar de que ya tenia idea a la edad en la que se encontraría con su padre, el inicio de sus desgracias, la vida le da otro rumbo, su encuentro fue antes de lo previsto, por lo que, debido a las circunstancias que la rodeaba, cambio su objetivo a ganarse el favor de su padre y sobrevivir en el intento. ¿Será capaz nuestra joven princesa lograr salir viva y ser amada por su padre? ¿Qué le deparará más adelante? Pues para ello, contara con la ayuda de otros personajes, que la guiarán en su camino.
Opinión personal
Primero y principal, lo que me encanta de esta historia es sin duda el hermoso dibujo que Spoon retracta, los detalles, las escenografías, las vestimentas de los mismos, los ojos, todo se me hace sumamente limpio y que lo hace destacar entre los demás manwhas, claro hay otros con un dibujo igual de hermosos y con una narrativa mejor ejecutada. Sin embargo, la historia en su momento fue bastante popular, o bueno, aun sigue dando mucho de que hablar y las criticas que se generaron fueron rudas, que si por no seguir la novela original y darse bastante libertad en el desenlace, entre otros detalles más, que al casi al publico en general, no les terminó de convencer.
Pero, aquí no me voy a enfocar tanto en esas diferencias porque realmente no he leído la novela ligera de pies a cabeza, solo spoilers de la misma que me terminaron de aclarar ciertas dudas que, muchas veces, los manwhas llegan a omitir. En cuanto a la historia y sus personajes, es realmente atractivo y me encanta que cada uno tenga su propia profundidad, sobre todo aquellos más cercanos a la protagonista, el como la trama nos introduce su pasado y las emociones que van experimentando, la enriquece en cierta manera; aunque, si me hubiese gustado que siguiera un detalle de la novela ligera (sé que dije que no quería comparar) es que amo a Lucas (un personaje relevante, muy relevante en la historia) y de verdad me hubiese gustado ese protagonismo más detallado que el como nos muestras en el relato escrito.
Hace un año, creo, anunciaron su versión anime pero en donghua, es decir de china, me hubiese encantando que fuesen los japoneses que la animaran, así como Doctor Elise: The Royal Lady with the Lamp, a pesar de que no estuvo tan buena como su manwha, los efectos y demás, me gustan más como lo hacen los japonenes, aunque hay casas de estudio chinas que si son buenas, pero cuando vi el trailer de who made me a princess, pues si le falta mucho detalle. Hasta el momento, no sé si ya salió el donghua, creo que no, aun así, si llegan a estrenarla, puede que me la vea y lleguen a animar es la novela como tal, solo tocará esperar.
Puntos positivos…
-Un hermoso arte.
-Un desarrollo de los personajes bien ejecutados, más que nada en el de padre e hija.
-Una trama atractiva.
Puntos negativos…
-Un ritmo un poco lento, sobre todo para llegar al climax.
-Muchos cambios libres, que hicieron que se perdiera la consistencia de la historia de la novela ligera.
Puntaje que le doy…

Aunque el arte es hermosa y la historia es atractiva, más por ser el primer manwha que leí, realmente hay mejores, tanto en trama como en arte, por lo que, su popularidad más que nada fue en base a la novela, lo que hizo que el cambio libre que le dieron al comic decayese considerablemente.

I didn't think I would read this here, I love Athanasia and the story with Clude. This was one of the first manhwas I started reading. The closing of the story for me was dramatic. Lucas is Lucas, I didn't know he was animated. I'll have to watch it. I'm going to watch itrrr hahahahahaha.
I think it would have been better if it was Japanese, it feels weird with Chinese language. I replayed the video.
Something fantastic about the story is how Athanasia seeks to avoid death and how Claude loves her more than anything. Even when she escapes or loses her memory. There are slow aspects in the manhwa, but that is not the closure, rather it happens this way to lengthen one of the most popular series at that time. :)
Si, le tengo mucho aprecio a esta historia y realmente es buena. Yo tampoco lo veía proyectado con las voces chinas, espero los japoneses se animen ellos de hacerla. Es que bueno, hay muchas variables en la novela ligera que el manwha de tanto alargarla no supieron aprovecharla, aun así siento que su arte dejo a muchos impresionados.

Me parece súper chévere que compartas tu experiencia, y más aún siendo el primer manhwa que te enganchó. Lo que más me llama la atención de todo lo que cuentas es, sin duda, el arte. Soy de los que piensan que un buen arte puede elevar muchísimo una historia. La trama de la princesa que reencarna y tiene que ingeniárselas para cambiar su destino fatal a manos de su propio padre también suena bastante intensa e interesante. Lo del ritmo un poco lento para llegar al clímax y los cambios que mencionas que afectaron la consistencia de la novela son buenos datos a tener en mente si uno se anima a leerlo. Se agradece un montón esa honestidad en la reseña, con los puntos positivos y negativos tan claros.
