Uta no Prince-sama – Anime Review (2011) [ENG/ESP]

Today I'm here to remind you of a fairly popular anime, a music harem where, with each new season, more male characters appeared—so many that it became difficult for me to keep track of who was who. Even so, besides the music, I found the protagonist's interactions with some of them endearing, so I kept watching and wanted to see how it all turned out. However, knowing it was based on an otome game, I knew I probably wouldn't end up choosing anyone in that role. So, without further ado, here are my impressions.
Uta no Prince-sama (うたの☆プリンスさまっ♪)…
Premiered in 2011, with a total of 13 episodes, the first season was directed by Yū Kō, followed by Yūki Ukai for the second and third seasons. Takeshi Furuta directed the fourth season; the animation studio was A-1 Pictures. This anime, in addition to being a reverse harem, is a romantic comedy, musical, and idol series.

The story centers on Haruka Nanami and how she attracts so many boys—just kidding 😂. This young girl has always been sickly, spending more time in bed since childhood. When she was alone, she heard a song on the radio by an idol named Hayato Ichinose. Haruka has innate talent, but she is quite shy. Even so, thanks to the help of two boys, she manages to enter the prestigious Saotome Gakuen Academy, an elite performing arts school that trains both idols (singers and artists) and composers.
The main rule of this academy is that, to graduate, you must form a pair with an aspiring idol. After a series of events and meeting several boys along the way to prove to herself that she can be a great composer, she ends up composing for the six handsome and talented "princes" she meets: Otoya, Masato, Natsuki, Tokiya, Ren, and Syo. Together, they form the idol unit ST☆RISH, with Haruka as their sole composer. And so, the adventure of this girl and the group continues, showcasing everyone's talents, even competing against much more experienced groups, with the ultimate goal of reaching the top of the entertainment industry.
Personal opinion
You know what? I had to look up a summary of the other seasons because I didn't remember much of any of them 😅, but I came across a comment that really brought back memories of when I watched it. There were so many male leads chasing after the girl (not an exaggerated number, but still), that the fandom started to get angry with each other. And it's true, they didn't even want any of them to end up with the female lead anymore. They were just too many; I didn't even know who was who or their backstories anymore, and it got really boring in that respect, well, for me. And I feel like that was its weak point, because there weren't enough characters to give them much depth. Their stories were just like a flimsy plot for the songs, which didn't really provide much information either. Even so, it's not all bad. The character design is pleasant, and that's what made me watch it back then. I think I was going through a phase where I was interested in reverse harems because I watched a lot of them at that time, like Ouran High School Host Club, Brothers Conflict, Amnesia, Hanasakeru Seishounen, and many more. Now, well, it depends on the plot. If the story offers more than just guys being handsome and that's it, or just chasing after the girl for no reason, there has to be something more. I don't know if I'm explaining myself well. Although, to be honest, I found the music in Uta no Prince pleasant, but not memorable. It's not something I would remember for very long.
The plot itself isn't very complex; everyone has their dreams and problems, and together they manage to overcome them. There's a lot of support, and the truth is, the guys do have romantic interest in Haruka, but that's not the central focus. The desire for the emotions expressed in the music to reach the public, besides achieving great success, is the goal of Uta no Prince, along with giving us many handsome and charismatic guys with voices that match their personalities. That was the argument that supported it at the time, but now I'd say it wouldn't be as appealing, I think. What do you all think?

Negative points…
-There's no depth to the characters, and with so many of them, it's easy to lose track of the plot.
-Even the protagonist lacked appeal.
-I know it's based on an otome game, but there are other anime like this that at least have a defined romance; this one doesn't, which makes it boring.
-It uses a very repetitive formula in every important part of the plot: the girl has a personal conflict, resolves it, composes something, then comes the musical number and the presentation, and that's it. It becomes exhausting in the end, and perhaps that's why I don't remember much about the other seasons.

Uta no Prince is redeemed not only by its attractive male characters but also by its music, which is somewhat appealing. It's not the best or most iconic, but it's passable. If you're a fan of idols or reverse harems where the guys aren't overly intense, then this is the anime for you.

Hoy vengo a recordarles de un anime que fue bastante popular, un harem de música que, cada vez que se venía una nueva temporada, salían más personajes masculinos, tantos que a mi resultaba difícil seguir el ritmo de quien es quien, aun así además de la música, la interacción de la protagonista con algunos de ellos se me hacia bonita, por ello continuaba viéndola y quería ver como resultaba todo, aunque viendo que era basado en un juego otome, sabía que muy probable no terminara escogiendo a alguien como tal, así que, sin más que agregar, aquí les dejo mis impresiones.
Uta no Prince-sama (うたの☆プリンスさまっ♪)…
Estrenada para el año 2011, con un total de 13 episodios, bajo la dirección de Yū Kō para la primera temporada, luego estuvo acompañado del director Yūki Ukai, para la segunda y tercera temporada, ya en la 4 temporada el director a cargo fue Takeshi Furuta; el estudio de animación siempre fue A-1 Pictures. Este anime además de ser un harem inverso, es una comedia romántica, musical y de idols.
En cuanto a la trama…
La historia se centra en Haruka Nanami y el cómo atrae a tantos chicos, no mentira 😂, esta joven chica siempre ha sido enfermiza, pasando desde pequeña más en cama, cuando se encontraba sola, escuchó por la radio una canción de un ídolo llamado Hayato Ichinose, esto tuvo un gran impacto emocional en ella, la lleno de energía y alegría haciendo que tuviera como objetivo en su vida el convertirse en compositora, ya que comprendido el poder curativo y emocional de la música. Haruka tiene un talento innato, pero es bastante tímida, aun asi gracias a la ayuda de dos chicos, logra ingresar a la prestigiosa Academia Saotome Gakuen, una escuela de artes escénicas de élite que entrena tanto a ídolos (cantantes y artistas) como a compositores.
La regla principal de esta academia es que, para graduarse, debe formar una pareja con un aspirante a ídolo, tras una serie de sucesos y conociendo a varios chicos en su trayecto para demostrarse que, si puede ser una gran compositora, termina siendo la compositora de esos seis apuestos y talentosos "príncipes" que conoce: Otoya, Masato, Natsuki, Tokiya, Ren y Syo, todo ellos forman la unidad de ídolos llamado ST☆RISH, con Haruka como su compositora exclusiva. Y así sucesivamente, sigue la aventura en crecimiento de esta chica junto al grupo, para demostrar los talentos de todos, incluso rivalizando con grupos muchos mas experimentados y teniendo como objetivo a alcanzar la cima del espectáculo.
Opinión personal
¿Saben? Tuve que buscar un resumen de las demás temporadas, porque no recordaba mucho de ninguna 😅, pero me topé con un comentario que me hizo rememorar mucho esa época que la vi y es que salían tantos protagonista masculinos detrás de la chica (no de forma exagerada, pero), que el fandom empezó a chispearlo entre ellos y es verdad, ya ni siquiera querían que alguno terminara con la protagonista, es que se pasaron, eran muchos, ya hasta no sabía quién era quien o su historia y resultaba muy aburrido en ese aspecto, bueno para mí, y siento que ese fue su punto débil, porque no permitía mayor profundidad a sus personajes al ser tantos, sus historias eran como solo un argumento blando para las canciones, que no daban como mucha información tampoco. Aun así, no todo es malo, el diseño de los personajes es agradable y eso fue lo que me hizo verla en su momento, creo que estaba pasando por una etapa en la que estaba interesaba en el harem inverso, porque en esa época vi muchos de ellos, como Ouran High School Host Club, Brothers Conflict, Amnesia, Hanasakeru Seishounen y muchos más, ya ahorita mmm, depende de la trama, si la historia da mucho más que chicos siendo guapo y ya, o solo perseguir a la chica porque si, debe haber como algo, no sé si me explico, aunque a decir verdad, la música me resultaba agradable en Uta no prince, pero no memorable, no es algo que recordaría por mucho tiempo.
La trama en si no es nada compleja, todo tienen sus sueños y problemas y en conjunto logran superarlos, hay bastante apoyo y la verdad, ósea los chicos si tienen interés romántico por Haruka, pero no es el foco central, los deseos de que los sentimientos compuestos en la música lleguen al público, además de estar en lo alto, son el objetivo de Uta no prince, aunado de darnos muchos chicos guapos y carismáticos, las voces acorde a sus personalidades, que sería el argumento que se sustentó en su momento, ya ahorita diría que no seria tan atractivo, creo, no sé ¿qué piensa ustedes?
Puntos positivos…
-Personajes carismáticos.
-Música agradable.
-Entretenida.
Puntos negativos…
-No hay profundidad en sus personajes y al ser muchos, se pierde el hilo.
-Incluso la protagonista le faltó como mas atractivo.
-Sé que está basado en juego otome, pero, también hay otros animes así y hay por lo menos un romance definido, aquí no, lo que genera que aburra.
-Una formula muy repetitiva en cada parte importante de la trama, la chica tiene un conflicto personal, lo resuelve, compone y viene el apartado musical y la presentación y listo, agotando al final y quizás por eso no recuerde mucho de las otras temporadas.
Puntaje que le doy…

Uta no Prince se salva además de sus personajes masculinos que resultan atractivo, por su música, que algo atrae, no es la mejor ni la más icónica, pero es pasable. Si eres fan de los idols o del harem inverso donde los chicos no sean intensos, pues este es el anime que buscas.

Este anime lo vi con mucha ilusion, pero llego un momento en que me fastidio tantos masculinos detras de una sola chica, nojoda, ya se pasaron y el argumento quedo en segundo plano jajajaja estoy de acuerdo contigo en que a partir de ese punto se torno aburrido, pero bueno, las canciones estaban geniales y el diseño de personajes muy lindo, todos eran muy guapos, pero ya eran demasiados jajajajaja
Si y realmente a lo que iba la historia quedo en el olvido, ya uno se perdia. Era muy bonita animación y todo, pero mmm, eso es todo. 😅

Ese anime lo ví hace muchos años, dioss este fue uno de los tantos harem inversos que ví. Este me costo por la cantidad de protagonistas masculinos que aparecen y si me acuerdo, cuando muchos del fandom los shipeaban entre sí 😅. Aparte a la trama le faltaba mucha profundidad. Por lo que mi fav siempre serán Ouran y Brother conflict que también los ví.
Ouran es el mejor 😊 En definitiva, es que eran tantos, pero tantos chicos que ya agotaba visualmente, y de paso, todos detras de ella, osea, no existen otras chicas 😂
