Top 3 anime based on otome games [ENG/ESP]

Last week I was talking about an anime based on an otome game that, personally, isn't the best in that genre. However, it made me remember several others of that style, which don't have many male protagonists and, for the most part, have one protagonist who stands out from the rest, allowing for a more stable romance route. Therefore, here's my top 3 list of such anime based on otome games, from the least appealing to the one I recommend watching if you really like this type of story.
Magic-kyun! Renaissance (マジきゅんっ!ルネッサンス)…
This anime premiered in 2016, directed by Mitsue Yamazaki and produced by Sunrise. It's a reverse harem anime, and everyone I'll mention falls into that genre. It's very similar in style to Uta no Prince-sama, except here the characters aren't trying to be singers. The story follows the protagonist, Kohana Aigasaki, in a world where art is magic. Those who can inspire passion with their magical arts are called Artists; this includes sculptors, dancers, pastry chefs, and many more.
The young woman is chosen to be part of the planning committee for the school's cultural festival, the Hoshinomori Summer Festa, along with six talented and handsome boys, each with their own artistic specialty; in short, she must make the festival a success and learn to unleash her own magical artistic potential, which manifests itself in the art of flower arranging, while working with the boys, developing strong bonds with them.
The first thing that definitely attracted me was the animation and the fact that it doesn't just focus on the music, but on different artistic areas, which was an element that could have been explored much more. In the end, the music seemed to predominate, and although it's good, it's not very transcendental. I don't know, that's how I felt, plus it falls into cliché and predictability. Another strong point, besides the visual style, would be that the male characters are varied, with distinct personalities and diverse artistic specialties, which enriches the story in many ways. The protagonist, although I like her floral adornments, mmm, she lacked spark. She was too passive and doesn't have the charm to be remembered among all the reverse harem anime. I'm sorry, but that's how it is. The redeeming qualities of this story, as I said, are that there aren't many guys, and they have distinct characteristics. Plus, the animation is very beautiful. Therefore, my score will be as follows.

Nil Admirari no Tenbin (ル・アドミラリの天秤)…
This anime, released in 2018 and directed by Masahiro Takata and produced by Zero-G, tells a dark fantasy story following the life of young Tsugumi Kuze in an alternate version of early 20th-century Japan. Kuze accepts an arranged marriage with a man she doesn't even know, all for the sake of her family's status. She keeps this secret from her younger brother, who becomes furious when he finds out and, shortly after, discovers her engulfed in flames in his room, only to be saved from the disaster.
Tsugumi is approached by members of Fukurō, the Imperial Library's Information Asset Management Bureau, a secret organization, who reveal to her the existence of "Maremono" (Ghost Books), cursed books that influence and severely harm their readers, thus confirming that her brother's death was not a suicide attempt. It is also discovered that Kuze possesses the ability to see the aura of these books, and to uncover the truth behind her brother's incident and help protect people, she joins Fukurō, investigating the Maremono alongside her attractive new colleagues.
As with most anime, what initially drew me in was the animation and the character designs 😏 don't blame me; the plot isn't intense, although it has some unexpected twists, especially in the later episodes that really hook you. I also liked that romance wasn't the main focus of the story; it's there, and they even hint at who the girl might end up with. However, I appreciated how they developed the element that started it all: the cursed books and the conspiracies behind them. The protagonist isn't the best, but she's definitely not forgettable either. She's quite competent and doesn't wait to be rescued, so that aspect of her is appreciated; The problem with this anime, besides having a rushed romantic development across multiple routes simultaneously, is that the resolution of both the plot and the romance was ultimately unsatisfactory. Even so, that doesn't detract from the mystery of the story and the characters' participation in the scene. Therefore, my rating is as follows:

Meiji Tokyo Renka (明治東亰恋伽)…
Finally, we have this anime, which premiered in 2019, directed by Akitaro Daichi and produced by TMS/V1 Studio. It focuses on the life of Mei Ayazuki, a high school student who doesn't fit in with her classmates because she can see spirits, a fact that has caused her to distance herself from others. One night, when the moon is crimson, she is mysteriously transported back in time by a magician to Meiji-era Tokyo (late 19th century). In this period, she meets several historical figures such as Ogai Mori and Shunsou Hishida, and she also realizes that ghosts are commonplace in society, but only some can see them, which makes her a Tamayori.
While living with them, and despite her memory problems, she helps resolve matters related to spirits and begins to develop strong romantic bonds with the men of the time. Therefore, she will eventually have to decide whether to stay or return to her own time. The fact that it's from the same studio that produced Kamisama Hajimemashita was a major draw that made me watch it, and the animation style really appealed to me.
The story itself has its charm, and right from the start it's very clear why the girl is attracted to someone and makes her feelings clear. There's no flitting between one and the other; no, here the young woman is clear, and that's a strong point. She's also a likable protagonist who adapts very well to her surroundings. She's not the most incredible protagonist, but she still has her charm. The plot is fun and light; it's nothing groundbreaking, but it does have its negative points. First, I was very dissatisfied with the ending. I mean, how can you leave me like that, without a definitive romantic conclusion? That's not how things work. Another issue is that it doesn't fully exploit its supernatural elements. It lacked something to truly engage the viewer; everything felt rushed. Therefore, the score I give this anime would be the following:

Certainly, reverse harems, especially those based on otome games, have their flaws in that they often feature many male protagonists, the female lead is often overlooked, and there's no clear path for who she'll end up with. However, each one has its own unique charm, and the ones I've listed in my top 3 have their merits. While they could have been better developed, what can you do? What I must emphasize is the beautiful animation and design, which many good stories fail to achieve. Therefore, there should be a balance, right? What do you think? And which reverse harem best fulfills these aspects would you recommend?

La semana pasada estuve hablando de un anime basado en un juego otome que, en lo personal, no es el mejor en ese estilo, no obstante, eso me hizo rememorar varios de ese estilo, de los cuales no tienen muchos protagonista masculino y, en su mayoría, hay como un protagonista que destaca entre todos y lo que permite crear una ruta de romance más estable, por ende aquí le dejo mi top 3 de tales animes basados en juegos otomes, del menos llamativo al que recomiendo ver si te gusta mucho este estilo de historia.
Magic-kyun! Renaissance (マジきゅんっ!ルネッサンス)…
Este anime fue estrenado para el año 2016 bajo la dirección de Mitsue Yamazaki y del estudio de animación Sunrise, es un harén inverso y todos los que mencionaré entre en ese género; este anime es mucho del estilo de Uta no prince sama, lo único que aquí no buscan ser cantantes como tal, la historia sigue a la protagonista, Kohana Aigasaki en un mundo donde el arte se convierte en magia, aquellos que pueden inspirar pasión con sus Artes Mágicas son llamados Artistas, es decir, tenemos desde escultores, hasta bailarines, pasteleros y muchos más.
La joven es elegida para formar parte del comité de planificación del festival cultural de la escuela, el Hoshinomori Summer Festa, junto con seis talentosos y apuestos chicos, cada uno con su propia especialidad artística; en fin, debe hacer que el festival sea un éxito y aprender a desatar su propio potencial artístico mágico, que se manifiesta con el arte del arreglo floral, mientras trabaja con los chicos, desarrollando fuertes lazos con los mismos.
Lo primero que, en definitiva, me atrajo fue la animación y el que no solo se enfoca en la música, sino en distintas áreas artísticas, lo cual fue elemento que se pudo explotar mucho más, porque al final termino como que, predominando la música, aunque es buena, no es muy trascendental, no sé, así lo sentí, aunado que entra en lo cliché y predecible. Otro punto fuerte, además del estilo visual, seria que los personajes masculinos son variados, pero con personalidades destacables uno con otro y especialidades artísticas diversas, lo que permite enriquecer la historia en muchos aspectos; la protagonista aunque me guste sus adornos florales, mmm, le falto chispas, era como muy pasiva y no tiene el encanto para ser rememorada entre todos los animes de harem inverso, lo siento, pero es así, lo rescatable como digo, de esta historia que, no son muchos chicos y son con características predominantes, aunado que, la animación es muy linda, por ello, mi puntaje será el siguiente.

Nil Admirari no Tenbin (ル・アドミラリの天秤)…
Este anime fue estrenado para el año 2018 bajo la dirección de Masahiro Takata y del estudio de animación Zero-G, nos traen una historia de fantasía oscura que sigue la vida de la joven Tsugumi Kuze, en una versión alternativa del Japón de la era Taishō (principios del siglo XX); Kuze acepta el matrimonio arreglado por su familia con un hombre a quien ni siquiera conoce por el bien del estatus de su familia. Esta noticia se lo oculta a su hermano pequeño, quien al enterarse se enfada mucho y, poco después, lo encuentra envuelto en llamas en su habitación, logrando ser salvado de tal acontecimiento.
Tsugumi es abordada por miembros del Fukurō, Buro de Gestión de Activos de Información de la Biblioteca Imperial, una organización secreta, revelándole la existencia de los "Maremono" (Libros Fantasma), libros malditos que influyen y dañan gravemente a sus lectores, por lo que no fue un intento del suicido por parte del hermano; se descubre también que, Kuze, posee la habilidad de ver el aura de estos libros y, para encontrar la verdad detrás del incidente de su hermano y ayudar a proteger a la gente, se une a Fukurō, investigando los Maremono junto a sus nuevos y atractivos colegas.
Como me sucede con la mayoría de los animes, me atrajo fue su animación y el diseño de los chicos 😏 no me culpen; la trama no es intensa, aunque tiene unos giros inesperados, sobre todo en los últimos episodios que te engancha, y que también me gusto que el romance no fuera el centro de la historia, ósea hay, e incluso te hacen como enfoque a con quien podría terminar la chica, sin embargo, me gustó que desarrollaran el elemento por el que comenzó, los libros malditos y las conspiraciones que hay detrás de ello. La protagonista no es la mejor, pero, en definitiva, tampoco es pasada desapercibida, es bastante competente y no espera ser salvada, así que se agradece ese aspecto de la chica; el inconveniente con este anime, además de tener todo un desarrollo romántico a lo apresurado, en múltiples rutas a la vez, en definitiva la resolución tanto de la trama como del romance, no fue satisfactoria, aun así, eso no quita lo misteriosa que se torna la historia y la participación de sus personajes en escena, por ello la puntuación que le doy es la siguiente:

Por último, tenemos este anime que fue estrenado para el año 2019 bajo la dirección de Akitaro Daichi y del estudio de animación TMS/V1 Studio, centrándose en la vida de Mei Ayazuki, una estudiante de la secundaria que no encaja con sus compañeros de estudios, ya que ella puede ver espíritus, hecho que la hizo distanciarse de los demás; una noche donde la luna esta carmesí es transportada misteriosamente en el tiempo por un mago a la era Meiji de Tokio (finales del siglo XIX). En este periodo, conoce a varias figuras históricas como Ogai Mori y Shunsou Hishida, además se percata que los fantasmas son algo común en la sociedad, pero solo algunos los pueden ver, por lo que esto la convierte en una una Tamayori.
Mientras vive con ellos y, a pesar de los problemas de memoria que tiene, ayuda a resolver asuntos relacionados con los espíritus y comienza a desarrollar fuertes lazos románticos con los hombres de la época, por lo que, a la larga deberá tomar la decisión de si quedarse o regresar a su tiempo. Ahora bien, el hecho de que sea el mismo estudio que produjo Kamisama Hajimemashita fue un punto fuerte que hiciera que la viera, aunado que la animación me atrajo mucho.
La historia en si tiene su encanto, y ya desde un inicio se nota mucho porque se siente atraída la chica y deja en claro sus sentimientos, no hay como que tira para uno, luego al otro, no, aquí la joven es clara y eso, es un punto fuerte, aunado que es una protagonista agradable, se adapta muy bien al entorno, no es que si la protagonista más increíble, aun así, tiene su encanto. La trama es divertida y ligera, no es nada del otro mundo, pero si tiene sus puntos negativos, primero quedé insatisfecha, pero muy insatisfecha con el final, ósea como me dejas así, sin una conclusión romántica definitiva, no las cosas no son así; otra de las cosas, es que no explota muy bien sus elementos sobrenaturales, falto algo que enganchara a profundidad, todo fue como muy apresurado, por lo que la puntuación que le doy a este anime seria la siguiente:

Ciertamente, los harem inversos, sobre todo los basados en juegos otomes, tienen su falla en cuanto al tener muchos protagonistas masculinos, que la chica sea pasada desapercibida y que no haya una ruta concreta con quien quedara, sin embarga, cada uno tiene su toque, y los que traje como top 3 tienen lo suyo, que pudieron ser explotados de mejor forma, pues si, pero que se puede hacer; lo que si debo resaltar mucho, es la animación y diseño tan bonito que se carga, que muchas buenas historias no logran tener, por ello, debería haber un equilibro ¿no? ¿qué opinan ustedes? ¿y qué harem inverso cumpla mejor estos aspectos me recomendarían?
