I prefer to buy them, although most of the cheap ones just have a bit of cheese on them, like the ones that come with burger combos. It's more dough than anything else, and nothing beats the feeling of melting all the cheese and the crispy dough 🤤.

You can find them not only filled with cheese, by the way, nothing beats Venezuelan cheese, I think it's what gives everything its flavor, anyway, you can also find ham and cheese fillings, I remember that my cousin used to sell a lot and among the most popular were the ones with plantain slices and cheese, it was so tasty, just eating plantain slices with cheese is super delicious, just imagine it wrapped in a crispy pastry. In short, I think that asking if there are tequeños at a Venezuelan party is like asking if there's cake; it's a guaranteed food. Oh, and of course, they come with their sauces, whether it's the pink sauce, which is a combination of red sauce and mayonnaise, garlic sauce, any kind—they never go bad with any of them. And that's why it makes me so happy that they have their cultural and gastronomic value, especially since they've spread to many countries thanks to the Venezuelan exodus, because they're the "appetizer" of a gathering.
