Before, we used to go a lot to the small town where my mother and her whole family lived when they were little. It all started when one of my aunts had my grandparents' house fixed up. It was quite run-down, and she did it because, due to the long journey to visit the cousins ​​and aunts who live there, we decided to stay at an aunt's house. To avoid bothering her, she took the opportunity to renovate the house. Personally, I wasn't exactly dying to go to the town. You did enjoy spending time with the family; the parties they had were lovely, with plenty of food and all that. But we got bored quickly. There was no internet, and the signal was terrible. Plus, at night you could hear everything, and it was scary to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night 😭. The bathroom was right in the middle of the house (badly located) and, to top it off, it didn't even have a roof.

Even so, we found ways to entertain ourselves, with board games, like UNO cards. We often ended up fighting, and I was always losing. I think I only won a few times. In this photo, I'm with two of my cousins ​​and my sister. To show you how much time has passed, the one next to me now has a 7-year-old son, and the other one is a 21-year-old guy who's currently in another country, like most Venezuelan families. I really liked that game because one of us would always make the next block move difficult for the other player. Those board games were quite entertaining; they helped us pass the time while the adults drank and listened to vallenato, merengue, and other music.
