Today I'm sharing an illustration with you, inspired by several images I found on Pinterest. I thought they were pretty and combined them in a way. This year I didn't want to do something like a couple drawing or anything like that, but something more general, or at least that's what I had in mind. The first image I found on Pinterest was of a girl with a background of newspapers, letters, and hearts, and I thought it was super cool, but I didn't want the girl in that pose. I looked for other references and found her with an umbrella, which I liked.
When I was starting to sketch, the idea of the umbrella didn't really appeal to me. First, because of time constraints, since work has made it harder to draw, and second, well, I don't know, it just wasn't calling to me anymore. Then I came across a picture of a heart-shaped helium balloon and thought, "Why don't we try it?" And that's how I shaped the sketch.
After drawing the clean lines and changing the background color, I proceeded to give my character its base colors.
After that, I colored and detailed the eye area and made some adjustments to the hair, which I would later change again; likewise, I created the respective shadows and blushes on the face and skin in general.
After redrawing the hair shape, I proceeded with the highlights and shadows, and then the rest of the outfit, such as the shirt, skirt, and boots.
I proceeded to add the details to the balloon. I had colored a balloon like this before (years ago), but I wasn't sure if I could do it well. I used the image I found as a guide and started adding the dark areas and different shades of red. Did it turn out well? I think from now on I'll start practicing more with photos to help me with the shadows and details. Then I added the strings the girl is holding it on.
I exported the image as a PNG and started working on another document. I couldn't find a similar image of the newspapers on Freepik or any other free background image site, so I asked Geminis to generate the background for me, without the girl, the letters, or anything else—just the newspapers—since I wanted to do something with my own Krita brushes.

I applied a Krita filter to this image to give it an oil painting look, so it wouldn't be so contrasted with the character. I added a translucent black border to brighten the center, where the girl would be.
I made some adjustments, some effects here, like shadow and external brightness.
For the background, I used a Krita brush that has a crayon-like texture, and I drew hearts, an arrow, the word LOVE and XOXO.
I added a black overlay layer, but I noticed the background was too saturated, so instead of overlaying it, I just lowered the opacity. I added an outer glow to the girl to make her stand out more.
To wrap things up, what I do in my illustrations is add a layer of texture overlay with reduced opacity. But I noticed that the background was too muted and felt a bit eerie, so I toned down the black outline and increased the saturation of the character slightly.

Hoy vengo a ustedes con una ilustración, donde tomé como inspiración varias imágenes que me topé en Pinterest, se me hicieron bonitas e hice como unas ciertas fusiones ahí; este año no quería hacer algo así como un dibujo de parejas o cosas por el estilo, sino como más general, o bueno, eso tenia en mi cabeza. La primera imagen que me topé en Pinterest fue de una niña con un fondo de periódicos y letras y corazones y se me hizo super cool, pero no quería a la niña en esa pose, busqué otras referencias y me aparecía con paraguas y me gustaba.
Cuando estaba comenzando haciendo el boceto, la idea del paraguas pues no me convencía, primero por el tiempo, ya que con el trabajo me ha costado dibujar más y segundo, mmm, no sé, ya no me llamaba, hasta que di con la imagen de un globo helio de corazón y me dije “¿Por qué no lo intentamos? Y así fue como le di forma al boceto.
Luego de realizar las líneas en limpio y cambiar el color de fondo, procedí a darle los colores bases a mi personaje.
Tras ello, a colorear y detallar la zona del ojo y hacer unos ciertos ajustes en el cabello, que más adelante, cambiaria una vez más; asimismo, generar las respectivas sombras y rubores en las zonas del rostro y la piel en general.
Al realizar nuevamente la forma del cabello, procedí con las luces y sombras del mismo y al resto, que si la camisa, la falda y las botas.
Procedí a darles los detalles al globo, anteriormente (hace años) había coloreado un globo de este estilo, pero realmente no sabría si llegaría hacerlo bien, me guie el de la imagen que encontré y comencé a darle sus partes oscuras y distintas tonalidades de rojo. ¿Me quedó bien? Creo que de ahora empezaré a practicar más con fotos, para ayudarme con las sombras y detalles; ya después hice los cordones donde la niña lo sujeta.
Exporté la imagen en PNG y empecé a trabajar en otro documento, no encontré una imagen similar de los periódicos en Freepik u otro fondo de imágenes gratis, por lo que, le pedí a Geminis, que me generara el fondo, sin la niña ni las letras ni nada, solo los periódicos, ya que quería hacer algo con mis propios pinceles de Krita.

A esta imagen, le di a un filtro de krita que la pone como si fuese una pintura óleo, para que no se viera tan contrastado con el personaje. Le añadí un borde negro traslucido, para que el centro estuviese más iluminado, que es donde estaría la chica.
Hice ciertos ajustes, ciertos efectos por aquí, que si de sombra y brillo externo.
Para el fondo, usé un pincel de Krita que es como de textura creyón, y dibujé corazones, una flecha, la palabra LOVE y XOXO.
Le agregué una capa superpuesta en negro, pero noté que era como demasiado saturado el fondo y, en vez de superpuesta, solo le bajé la opacidad. Le anexé un resplandor exterior a la chica, para destacarla más.
Para ir finalizando, lo que hago en mis ilustraciones es agregarle una capa de textura superpuesta y bajada de opacidad. Pero, noté que el fondo estaba como muy bajo en tono y si lo sentía algo tétrico, le bajé el tono al contorno negro y subí un poco la saturación en el personaje.
Este fue el resultado…. ¿Qué les pareció?
