Visit to an old and important fairgrounds
Those who live in Havana see it as beautiful but its characteristics are normal but when you arrive as a visitor you are amazed. I am always struck by the people in the square with the statue of Martí.
Another surprising thing is the tunnel of the bay that crosses under the sea to reach the other side where the old military fortress or Morro Cabaña complex is located. In the past it was used to defend the country from attacks by corsairs, pirates and invaders and now it is used as a fairground, tourist site and headquarters for offices and companies.
Although the morro continues guiding with its light the entrance of the ships to the bay.
These days I had the opportunity to go to participate in the International Book Fair. It is a wonderful place with a rich breeze and a beautiful contrast between green, blue, brown.
At the fair you find many attractions besides books, friends and family. Music, dance, puppets and even a company of giants.
Havana is full of old cars, sometimes you don't know which is older, the cars or the fortress and its cannons. Just kidding but I thought so.
What I enjoyed most besides buying books was sitting on a wall and watching Havana kissed by the waves, discovering familiar buildings from a distance. The beautiful sea glistening in the sun's glare and watching the cars scurrying down the wide avenues in the distance.
The hustle and bustle of the fair can sometimes be maddening are Thousands of people looking for books, trying to find recreational offerings but it is always a lot of fun. There are still many people who like to read.
I went to present some of my poetry from my book "Para espantar este frío". I also toured the facilities to attend other presentations such as the presentation of the books of Mikhail Lopez, the five-time Olympic champion.
We also found a wonderful place to drink beer. Although I'm not much of a drinker, I do enjoy listening to pleasant conversation, laughing and sharing professional contacts. It was a lovely day. I met some great Mexican poets.
I had a lot of places to visit because time was limited and I was on a bus with a group of friends.
Other important places I have yet to visit are the museums, the cathedral church, the cobblestone streets.
This centenary city has a lot of history, many places to visit. The book fair is a wonderful place to understand the history and enjoy a healthy walk.

I was in that area in 2009 and I really liked it, although I still had several places left to visit.
It is really a beautiful place to visit calmly and enjoy all its goodness. Thank you for your attention.
