Too good to be true

We perceive what's going on around us, and even inside us, through our senses. But can we trust our senses? Or is it that, in addition to the action of our senses, the interpretation and comparison we make ends up distorting any possibility of an approximation to reality?
There are many other factors that can influence and reshape our perception of our world.
If we don't have the ability to see, we can have a representation of life, but in our own way. The other senses take up part of the space left by sight and overload its capacity, with the brain areas responsible for interpreting the other signals becoming more developed and even "gaining" capacities not normally seen in those who have all their senses.
There's a lot that can condition our ability. But what if we are looking, hearing, smelling or feeling something that we believe to be true? Can we tell the difference between what is true and what is not?
Isn't that a bit like what's happening today? When we access any platform or social network, we are immediately bombarded with information, in all forms (visual - images and texts, audible - music and speech, and even “emotional”, which doesn't translate into either of these two forms, but which can be simplified into the system of recognition by others - the so-called “like”, or the vote, or even the comment that others make.
This reality, built on an almost irrational need to establish a mechanism of action (publication) reaction (like) mediated by an algorithm that saps the attention and desperation of ordinary mortals, means that the publications of idyllic worlds are disseminated like anything! Everything is perfect. There are no bad days. There are no negative thoughts. There are no arguments in marriages. There are no children who disappoint us. There are no friends who hurt us. There's no one who can't reach their goal in life.
You can be anything you want to be... (not true)
This maxim that is “sold” to us at all costs, and free of charge, but at a huge price to us, by all the influencers, managers, CEOs, footballers, nutritionists and I don't know who else, is nothing but a LIE.
We can't all be what we want. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that! To make a child believe that they can be whoever they want is to create in their mind the wrong idea and perception that they can be whatever they dream... Dreams are important. Of course it is. But more important than dreaming big is knowing that we can't all be doctors, lawyers, judges, astronauts or F1 drivers.
Society has to encourage greater diversity. Only then can we evolve. Some of us have to work collecting garbage. Others have to look after the gardens, still others have to be kitchen helpers, or plumbers... We are all important.
We shouldn't believe an image that's too good to be true, because in fact that's what it might be. We're being sold a dream that isn't real.
