Welcome to my #TTT #ThreeTuneTuesday entry!

O qual eu vos convido a conhecerem.

Welcome to another edition of TTT and another birthday boy!

This week's birthday boy is a well-known virtuoso guitarist who I particularly enjoy listening to. I'm talking about Jerry Cantrell. Born on March 18, 1966, in Tacoma, USA, he was one of the founders of the rock band Alice in Chains. Together with Layne Staley, they led many of those who lived through the grunge movement to develop a taste for the particular touch of the more aggressive tone, which gave Alice a more aggressive sound, which brought them closer to heavy metal and hard rock. guaranteeing fans true anthems that even today, those who lived through those 90s in their youth, feel enormous nostalgia.

Their songs have the particularity of not leaving anyone indifferent. The stories, the chords, the stinging guitar entrances, accompanied by the always strong presence of the bass, which marked the bottom line, conquered song after song.

Jerry, in addition to the Alice in Chains project, which he took over as lead singer after Layne's death in 2002, had an individual project under his name that materialized in four albums over 27 years, the last of which was released in October 2024 under the name “I Want Blood”. Which I invite you to get to know. You certainly won't be disappointed.

Today I leave you with just 4 titles from the enormous list of huge hits that have made Alice known worldwide, as well as a fifth single by Jerry.

Thank you for your comment, Higg! Alice in Chains is by far one of my favorite bands ever. The Unplugged album is a true piece of art, just like Nirvana's!

It's a shame nobody talks about the post-Staley albums. They're really really good, love all of them. Also I suggest to listen to the last one, Rainier Fog by watching the video series Black Antenna in their YouTube channel. A short film divided in many chapters as the album songs.

Thank you so much for the suggestion Harbiter. I'll take it, and place them in my cue list in Spotufy, and on Youtube to see the Black Antenna series has you suggested.
Have a great week ;)
