Welcome to another weekly edition of TTT!
Few things in life leave such a mark on us as a particular song or band, or perhaps just a memory associated with a smell, fragrance, or image we have stored away in a photograph.
Adolescence, beyond our childhood, will always be a true source of inspiration, memories, passions, particular tastes, not to mention a personality that often has nothing in common with the one we will have in adulthood...
And why is that? Is it just the sea of hormones bathing our brains that makes us bolder, less rational, or more “foolish”? Maybe. It's part of it!
Of the memories I retain from my adolescence, there are many musical groups that I used to listen to at that time. Some have remained on my playlist to this day, and I think they will continue to do so. Others made sense at the time...
Today, I don't listen to them as regularly, only if they come up in one of Spotify's recommendations, and more often than not, associated with the same musical genre.
Of the musical genres most listened to in the late 90s, grunge was certainly one of them.
And of the grunge bands that made the biggest impression on me, L7 was definitely one of them.
For today's birthday girl, L7's lead bassist, Jennifer Finch, turns 59 today! How time flies.
Today I'm going to share three songs by L7, in no particular order. What bands did you listen to when you were teenagers, but don't listen to as regularly anymore?

Poucas coisas existem na vida que nos marquem tanto como uma determinada música, ou um grupo, se calhar apenas uma memória associada a um cheiro, fragrância ou a uma imagem que guardamos de uma fotografia.
A adolescência irá ser para além da nossa infância sempre uma verdadeira fonte de inspirações, memórias, paixões, gostos particulares, para já não falar de uma personalidade que muitas vezes em nada tem um ponto de contacto com a que iremos ter na nossa idade adulta...
E porque é assim? Será que é apenas o mar de hormonas que banha o nosso cérebro que nos torna mais audazes, menos racionais, ou mais "parvos? Pode ser. Faz parte!
Das memórias que retenho da minha adolescência, muitos são os grupos musicais que eu costumava ouvir naquela altura. Alguns permaneceram na minha "playlist" até aos dias de hoje, e penso que irão continuar a ficar. Outros fizeram sentido na altura...
Hoje já não os costumo ouvir com tanta regularidade, apenas se calhar se me surgir numas das recomendações do Spotify, e mais frequentemente, associado a um mesmo gênero musical.
Dos gêneros musicais mais ouvidos no fim dos anos 90, seguramente que foi o grunge.
E das bandas de grunge que mais me marcaram, seguramente que as "L7" foram uma delas.
Para a aniversariante de hoje, a baixista principal dos L7, de seu nome Jennifer Finch completa hoje os seus 59 anos! Como o tempo passa.
Hoje vou aqui partilhar três canções das L7, não por uma ordem especial, ou especifica. E vocês que bandas ouviam quando eram adolescentes, mas que deixam de as ouvir tão regularmente?

L7 rocks!
I've always known and loved "Pretend We're Dead" and I still hear it on one of my YouTube music playlists that I listen to all the time. But for some reason I never explored the band further.
Shove is ferocious! Really kicks butt. And Fast and Freightening is, well Fast!
