Three Tune Tuesday ~ The Cramps ~ Lux Interior ~ Birthday Boy #61 [Eng-Pt]
Welcome to my #TTT #ThreeTuneTuesday entry!
Good morning, everyone!
Welcome to another edition of TTT! Today I bring you the sixty-first birthday boy... His stage name is Lux Interior, or Luxury Interior, and he was one of the two founding members of the band “The Cramps.”
Born on October 21, 1946, the American musician Erick Lee Purkhiser met his wife in Sacramento in 1972 while he was hitchhiking.
This legendary couple would go on to develop the entire psychobilly genre.
This musical genre is the perfect blend of late 70s punk and rock, and 50s American rock and roll and rockabilly. Strongly inspired by and interconnected with the horror film industry, it often deals with disruptive themes such as violence, sexuality, and much more...
The psychobilly genre emerged when Johnny Cash did it in his song “One Piece at a Time” in 1976... At the time, it was an explosion of novelty, and everyone was hooked on this new approach.
For today, I chose three songs by the band “The Cramps” to illustrate the great influence that this innovative band brought to the music scene!
See you next week, friends!
Cheers🍀
Bem Hajam🍀

Nice choice to feature The Cramps in this TTT post!
I'm a fan and your first pick, Goo Goo Muck, is one of my favorite songs.
I'm not sure how many of today's youth knew of The Cramps until the Netflix hit Wednesday featured Goo Goo Muck in Season 1, three years ago. Wednesday, played by Jenna Ortega does a memorable dance to the song, and clips of it went viral.
But not everyone knows that The Cramps covered Goo Goo Muck. It was originally done by Ronnie Cook and the Gaylads in 1962. There is a YouTube video that uses the video from the Wednesday dance scene but swaps in the original Goo Goo Muck. Might be of interest to some readers of this post, so here it is.

That was a killer choice for TTT — Lux Interior really brought something wild and fresh to rock. Love how you described psychobilly as that perfect blend of punk, rockabilly, and horror flair ! @xrayman
