Good evening to all music lovers!

And welcome to another edition of “Birthday Boy of the Day.” For the past 82 weeks, I’ve been sharing three songs with this community, just as @ablaze challenged us to do on TTT Day! And to make things more exciting for me, and to make me a little more aware of the vast music scene I’m not familiar with, I started looking for the “starting point” for this discovery by searching through the list of musicians who, on the same day as this post, are celebrating another trip around the sun.

Today I bring you an artist who has recently come into the spotlight. His full name is Andrew John Hozier-Byrne, and today he turns 36. Born on March 17, 1990, in County Wicklow, Ireland, this talented artist has brought to the forefront a theme that is often overlooked, as it is considered outdated or inappropriate. Religion and various literary themes serve as his inspiration for songs that frequently address social and political issues.

Hozier began writing his songs around the age of 15. His father, who had been in an accident, had been confined to a wheelchair and unable to work since the artist was six years old, which may have helped something take root within him.

The artist has distinguished himself several times throughout his career, winning numerous prestigious awards in the music industry, the most notable being “Take Me to Church,” which topped the charts in several countries and secured him the number two spot on the 2013 Billboard Hot 100. The 2018 album “Nina Cried Power,” which included the title track, reached number one on the Billboard Adult Alternative Songs chart!

Today, I’d like to share three songs by this highly original Irish artist, who has brought such socially divisive issues to an international audience and managed to have them sung by a large portion of the younger generations.

E bem vindos para mais uma edição do aniversariante do dia. Desde há 82 semanas, que estou a partilhar com esta comunidade 3 canções, como o @ablaze nos desafiou a fazer no dia do TTT! E para tornar as coisas mais emocionantes para mim, e para me tornar um pouco mais consciente do panorama musical enorme que eu não conheço, comecei a procurar o "ponto de partida" para essa descoberta a fazer uma pesquisa pela lista de artistas musicais que completam no mesmo dia que esta publicação mais uma volta em torno do sol.

Hoje trago-vos um artista que apareceu recentemente na ribalta. O seu nome completo é Andrew John Hozier-Byrne, e hoje completa os seus 36 anos. Nascido a 17 de março de 1990, no County Wicklow, na Irlanda, este virtuoso artista, trouxe para a actualidade um tema que é muita vezes deixado para trás, por ser considerado mais antigo, ou desadequado. A religião, e os vários temas literários, servem para a sua inspiração para temas que abordam frequentemente questões sociais e politicas.

Hozier começou a compor as suas canções por volta dos 15 anos. Seu pai que tivera sofrido um acidente, estava amarrado a uma cadeira de rodas e impedido de trabalhar desde os seis anos de idade do artista, o que poderá ter contribuído para que algo germinasse dentro dele.

O artista conseguiu destacar-se várias vezes, ao longo da sua carreira, tendo alcançado vários prêmios de valor e de renome na arte musical, sendo os mais importantes "Take me to church" que alcançou o top de tabelas de vendas de vários países, e que lhe garantiu o segundo lugar do Billboard Hot 100 de 2013. O album "Nina Cried Power" de 2018, que continha o single homônimo, alcançou o numero um da tabela do Billboard Adult Alternative Songs!

Quero aqui hoje partilhar três temas deste tão original artista Irlandês, que internacionalizou temas tão fracturantes da sociedade, e que conseguiu que fossem entoados por uma grande parte das pessoas das gerações mais novas.
