Our own kingdom

We are convinced that we control many things around us. But the truth is that this is completely unrealistic.
We make plans for a week from now. We schedule a coffee with a friend for next month, or even for tomorrow. But will it really happen?
We have the will and the desire for things to happen in our favor. It's one of the oldest and most primal functions we have. Hope. We always hope for the best, or at least for our hopes not to be denied.
But there may come a day when something doesn't happen, not because we don't want it to, but because something gets in the way and prevents, for one reason or another, an event from taking place.
When we think that the kingdom, our kingdom, is calmer, sometimes we are approached by a sensation, or by an event that puts our convictions, and even our determinations, to the test.
We don't think the worst. It's a fact. We think it could happen, but we don't want it to be present in our minds.
Are we prisoners of this realm of ours? Of our reality? Do we, in the our skull-sized realm, have the confidence and determination to go beyond what the future might bring?
Thank you for reading my shortest reflection for today!
Cheers🍀

I have completely lost any sense of control over my realm during this time. I am a serial procrastinator. So in my personal experience I am drifting like a little boat in the middle of the sea of life. Happy Saturday.
That is a good way to enjoy life. You are more focused in enjoying the "boat trip" then in maneuvering the vessel it self, right? You have some benefits in that way!
We can always plan and try to control our lives, but you know what they say about making plans, it the best way to make God laugh!
Exactly. Well, I think that we don't plan and try to control in a conscious way. We have that illusion, and we are constantly wishing for it... Even when we believe that we aren't! God has a very peculiar humor, we can say that for sure :)
Everyone's home can be seen as a castle in which everything is under the illusion of control, but it is just that, an illusion, the world is so chaotic that trying to control it has no way of being.
We are a leaf in the wind.
I couldn't say it more clearly. That sums up pretty well, the way that we "travel" in this reality!
Have a great Sunday, Topher!
