O Aqueduto da Gargantada [Pt - Eng]

O arco, é capaz de ser um dos ícones mais reconhecidos da arquitectura desde há milhares de anos... Tendo evoluído da necessidade de suporte, e elevação, hoje em dia é muito usado como fonte de harmonização.
Neste pequeno conjunto de arcos, majestosos, foram capturados em Queluz, no denominado Aqueduto da Gargantada. Aqueduto do século VI que abastecia o Palácio Real de Queluz com água, usando apenas a gravidade.
Achei muito interessante a forma como estes arcos se elevam, descrevendo no céu límpido, uma curva, que nos convida a aproximar e admirar a mestria de uma construção com mais de quinze séculos.
The arch has been one of the most recognizable icons of architecture for thousands of years... Having evolved from the need for support and elevation, today it is widely used as a source of harmonization.
This small set of majestic arches was captured in Queluz, in the so-called Gargantada Aqueduct. This was a 6th century aqueduct that supplied the Royal Palace of Queluz with water using gravity alone.
I found it very interesting how these arches rise, describing a curve in the clear sky that invites us to come closer and admire the mastery of a construction that is more than fifteen centuries old.

And we manage to extract and capture even more drama when we choose not to use colors to express it, IMHO ;)
