#Monomad Challenge - Christmas Eve

Good evening, #Monomad friends

Here is my entry for the #monomad contest by @brumest and @monochromes.

The hustle and bustle are more than noticeable... Perhaps there is only one other day when everyone is rushing around, trying to fulfill their commitments.

But is all this really necessary? Do the gifts we are so committed and involved in finding and buying really make that much difference? Is that special food really so essential on the Christmas Eve table? Is that centerpiece decoration really so indispensable, or will it make such a difference? Will that outfit or that dress make us shine brighter, be better people, and be more present with those around us?

Many of these questions come to mind...

Today, I had to go to a pharmacy very close to my house. It is located near a shopping area here in the neighborhood. And the difference from a “normal” day was more than obvious...

People on the street... many with shopping bags. Some heading to the supermarket, others coming from the mall with shopping bags... Many trying to park on a street where there were no more spaces available.

And all this... for what?

As Antoine de Saint-Exupéry said in “The Little Prince”:

“What is essential is invisible to the eye...”

And in fact, every day, every week, month, year that I live, I think more and more that way. Few things of unique value can be bought. Joy, health, peace, friendship... And this is all we need to take to Christmas Eve today. This is all we need to be able to share the best we can offer to others, and to ourselves.
