#Monomad Challenge - Capoeira [Eng-Pt]

Bom dia, Amigos do #Monomad

Bem Hajam 🍀

Good morning, #Monomad friends

An International Capoeira Meeting took place in an urban park very close to my house last weekend. As I hadn't planned anything better than tidying up for that afternoon, and as I'm an excellent procrastinator, I decided to go and see the presentation.

As you might expect, I didn't regret watching it at all. When I was younger, and when I didn't have so many limitations in terms of movement and motor coordination, I was still a beginner at karate. I only got as far as green belt. But what always impressed me was the physical capacity of the movements, which were quick, precise, and at any moment could make the difference between getting out of a tricky situation better or worse.

Accompanied by an almost intoxicating mantra, a voice that was either male or female, where short phrases were chanted to the rhythm of various berimbaus and drums, the athletes demonstrated their abilities to the others present.

I can say that I was even convinced by the final result of the photographs I took. I thought I wouldn't get much out of them because of the fast movements, but I was wrong.

I hope you enjoyed my post here in the B&W community.

Cheers🍀

It is such a coordinated and so strong dance. When we know the origins in this type of dance/martial art it is even more impressive. The way that slaves could "hide" they true training and intentions masking them with dance and music.
Thank you so much for your comment, LB4!

It's a beautiful sport to watch, like a dance... but it's not for me, I'm as flexible as a piece of wood! 😀

Good morning, Neblo
Thank you. And one of the most impressive thing, is that even the more large fighters had the ability to jump so high in the air, and to throw such high rotative kicks!
Have a great Friday
