#Monomad Challenge - A throne of suffering and dedication

Today I want to share with the whole community another series of photographs about one of humanity's oldest professions... fishing.

I'm sure we all know, or have calculated, the difficulty and personal and family sacrifice that this profession requires. Long gone are the days when the only tools used were the location of the departure point and the stars in the firmament. Nowadays, all the technological developments make it possible to calculate with surgical precision the location of the boat, the weather forecast at sea, the swell, as well as the echolocation of shoals.

Despite the technological aids, much of the art of artisanal fishing does not dispense with long periods on land to recover the gear used for fishing at sea.

Today I would like to share with you the efforts and dedication of Mr. António, who a little over a year and a half ago found himself dealing with a serious health situation, but who, with his determination and willpower (which came to admire the medical teams), returned to his work.

Early on in his treatment, and often against the advice of doctors and nurses, he came to the beach to help recover the gear he used at sea. Today, although not fully recovered, he helps out whenever he can. If only from a chair strategically placed in the back of a work van.

In these photos of mine, although the throne of suffering was strategically placed, the great Lord António, king of the ship, never once used it... giving his whole body to the morning's task.
