CCC's Street Art Contest #282 - "Chicks of Hope" - Bordalo II - Lisboa, Portugal [Eng-Pt]

Welcome to another post in the Street Art community!
I recently visited a hospital that is one of the national centers of excellence in oncology and is managed by the National Health System. The institution is called "Oncology Institute Francisco Gentil” and was inaugurated on December 29, 1923.
One of the street artists was invited to leave his work in this place, which receives so many complicated cases and does not choose ages or statuses.
Bordalo II, whose work I have shared on several other occasions, is a well-known Portuguese artist. His very particular style involves using materials that apparently no longer have any use, other than as rubbish, and which, after being affixed to a wall or other structure, give it a texture and shape that, once the piece is complete, is truly impressive. Not only because of its size, but also because of its shapes and colors.
In this particular case, the artist chose chicks. He chose one that is just hatching and another that has already hatched. His representation is more obvious when we visit the hospital. In this hospital, and in the entrance garden, which has a small lake, you can see ducks, chickens, and chicks. All of this together brings some joy to those who have been forced to come here.
The piece brings hope to those undergoing treatment, as well as to their families and friends, and to the professionals who dedicate much of their lives to helping others overcome this type of illness.

Bem-vindos a mais uma publicação para a Comunidade Street Art!
Recentemente estive num hospital que é um dos centros de referência nacionais em termos de oncologia e gerido pelo Sistema Nacional de Saúde. A instituição chama-se "Instituto Português de Oncologia - Francisco Gentil" e foi inaugurada em 29 de Dezembro de 1923.
Um dos artistas, de arte de rua foi convidado, a deixar a sua obra neste local que recebe tantos casos complicados, e que não escolhe idades, nem estatutos.
Bordalo II, do qual eu já partilhei vários outros trabalhos, é um artista nacional, bem reconhecido. O seu estilo muito particular, de utilizar material que aparentemente já não tem qualquer utilidade, sem ser apenas lixo, e que após a sua aposição a uma parede, ou a outra estrutura, lhe confere uma textura e uma forma, que depois de concluída a peça, é de facto impressionante. Não só pelas suas dimensões, mas também pelas suas formas e cores.
Neste caso em particular, o artista escolheu os pintainhos. E escolheu um que está a a acabar de eclodir, e outro já fora da casca. A sua representação é mais óbvia, quando conhecemos o Hospital. Neste Hospital, e no Jardim de entrada, que tem um pequeno lago, é possível ver patos, galinhas e pintainhos. Toda essa conjugação, traz alguma alegria a quem por aqui foi forçado a passar.
A peça, trás esperança a quem está a ser tratado, bem como aos seus familiares e amigos, tal como aos profissionais que dedicam grande parte da sua vida para poder ajudar outras pessoas a ultrapassar este tipo de enfermidades.
