An architectural element that gives buildings so much character and symbolism
Good evening!
Welcome to another post in the WednesdayWalk community 🌉

Today I want to share with you a walk I took through the beautiful city of Lisbon. On this sunny but cold February afternoon, I let myself get lost in the cobbled streets of the city of seven hills. On my walk, I noticed the uniqueness of the shutters on the buildings I passed. Unlike today, in the past the doors of a house, estate or farm were like a business card. Care was taken to choose not only the materials, but also the adornments that could be added. As you well know, even today, there is a certain status that is conveyed by this element of architecture. The door is something that prevents outsiders from entering, but it is also something that opens to welcome those outside. Look at the care taken in choosing even the tiles for some of the doors I photographed. To end the evening, what better to see than the sunset in the western part of the city?

I hope you enjoyed this walk with me.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read and view my photos.
