The last time I traveled this year, if I’m not mistaken, was in June when I went to Rio de Janeiro to attend a journalism congress. It was an incredibly enriching experience because, despite having been in the profession for years, I had never had the opportunity to attend such a grand journalism event.

The Festival 3i lasted three days, with the first two held at Casa Firjan and the last one at FACHA College, both in the Botafogo neighborhood. I even made a few posts here on Hive talking about the Festival and also about Casa Firjan, which earned my admiration for the unique beauty of the place, with its wonderful structure.

This edition of the Festival 3i had the central theme of the use and challenges of Artificial Intelligence in journalism. That was one of the main factors that motivated me to travel to another state – after all, I live in Minas Gerais – in addition to the diversity of lectures and workshops offered. In a time when new technologies are transforming our profession, nothing could be more relevant than discussing and understanding the impact of AI in our daily work.

But, I took advantage of my stay in Rio beyond the congress. During the days I spent in the city, I visited a few tourist spots with a friend who hosted me. Rio is rich in history and culture, with stunning landscapes.

We went to Morro da Urca, which offers a spectacular view, with Sugarloaf Mountain, the cable car, and a view of Christ the Redeemer.

Another place we visited that had been on my wish list for a long time was the Selarón Steps. I’m in love with the vibrant mix of colors from tiles from different parts of the world that form that breathtaking open-air art masterpiece.

We also visited the Ferris wheel in the Port Zone, though we didn’t get the chance to ride it. We passed by the famous Rua 25 de Março, where you can find a bit of everything for sale, and visited a few other tourist spots. Most of these places have already made it into detailed posts here on Hive as well.

But one experience that really stuck with me was riding the subway! Hahahah. It’s something simple, but I found it really cool.

Rio is one of the most beautiful cities in Brazil, there’s no doubt about that. It’s no wonder it’s known worldwide as the “Marvelous City.” But in several areas of the city, you have to stay very alert and be careful due to issues with violence. Despite this negative aspect, the beauty of the city prevails and keeps it as an attractive destination for thousands of visitors from all over the world.

Would I go back? Of course. In fact, I’m already planning another trip to Rio de Janeiro, this time with more time and a more relaxed pace to explore other places I still want to visit. The city offers endless cultural, historical, natural, and entertainment attractions. The Botanical Garden, the Museum of Tomorrow, as well as the Zoo and AquaRio are all on my list.

A última vez que viajei esse ano, se não me engano, foi em junho, quando fui para o Rio de Janeiro participar de um congresso de Jornalismo. Eu cheguei a fazer alguns posts aqui na Hive contando sobre o Festival e também sobre a Casa Firjan, que ganhou muito a minha admiração pela beleza única do local, com um estrutura maravilhosa.

Esta edição do Festival 3i teve como tema central o uso e os desafios da Inteligência Artificial no jornalismo. Esse foi um dos principais fatores que me motivaram a fazer a viagem para outro estado – afinal, moro em Minas Gerais – além da diversidade de palestras e workshops oferecidos. Em uma época em que as novas tecnologias estão transformando a nossa profissão, nada mais relevante do que discutir e entender os impactos da IA no nosso dia a dia de trabalho.

Mas, eu aproveitei a estadia no Rio além do congresso. Durante os dias que fiquei na capital fluminense, visitei alguns pontos turísticos com uma amiga que me hospedou. O Rio é rico em história e cultura, com paisagens deslumbrantes.

Nós fomos ao Morro da Urca, que tem um vista espetacular, com o Pão de Açúcar, o bondinho, a vista para o Cristo Redentor.

Outro local que fomos e que estava na minha lista de desejos há muito tempo, foi a Escadaria Selarón. E sou apaixonada pela mistura vibrante das cores dos azulejos de diversas partes do mundo que formam aquele painel absurdo de obra de arte a céu aberto.

Também visitamos a roda-gigante na Zona Portuária, mas não tivemos a oportunidade de subir nela. Passamos pela famosa Rua 25 de Março, onde é possível encontrar de tudo um pouco à venda e alguns outros pontos turísticos. A maioria desses locais já viraram posts aqui na Hive também, bem detalhadinhos.

Mas, uma experiência me marcou bastante que foi andar de metrô! hahahahha É algo simples, mas eu achei muito legal.

O Rio é uma das cidades mais bonitas do Brasil, isso não há dúvidas. Não é a toa que conhecida mundialmente como Cidade Maravilhosa, mas, em alguns diversos pontos da cidade temos que ficar muito atentos e ter bastante cuidado por conta da questão da violência. Apesar desse ponto negativo, a beleza da cidade prevalece e a faz continuar sendo um atrativo para milhares de visitantes dos quatro cantos do planeta.

Se eu voltaria? Óbvio. Na verdade, já está nos planos voltar em uma outra viagem ao Rio de Janeiro, dessa vez com mais calma, mais tempo, para explorar outros lugares que ainda quero conhecer. A cidade tem um infinidade de atrações culturais, históricas, naturais e de entretenimento. O Jardim Botânico e o Museu do Amanhã, além do Zoológico e do AquaRio estão na minha lista.
