Our 1st time @ La Cucaracha — and also the last

Yesterday was another very special night for my band, ScreambreakerZ! We played for the first time at La Cucaracha, a venue that has always been very important for the scene, but that, unfortunately, closed its doors for good that same night. It was an honor and, at the same time, a farewell. Besides us, six other bands performed, showing all the strength and diversity of the scene.

Since we were the opening band, we had to arrive early for soundcheck. We got there at 5:30 PM and spent about an hour and a half adjusting everything. At 7 PM, the venue opened to the public and, right at 8 PM, we hit the stage. Even though it was still empty at that moment, it was a really good show! I left with the feeling that we are growing a lot as a band.

Personally, I no longer get nervous being on stage. My performance and stage presence are improving, I’m losing my shyness and feeling more and more comfortable in a place that used to intimidate me so much. We also included some new songs in the set, which made it even more exciting!

Ready for the next one — whenever that might be.

Ontem foi mais uma noite muito especial para a minha banda, ScreambreakerZ! Tocamos pela primeira vez no La Cucaracha, um espaço que sempre foi muito importante para a cena, mas que, infelizmente, encerrou as atividades justamente nessa noite. Foi uma honra e, ao mesmo tempo, uma despedida. Além da gente, mais seis bandas se apresentaram, mostrando toda a força e diversidade.

Como fomos a banda de abertura, precisávamos chegar mais cedo para passar o som. Chegamos às 17h30 e ficamos cerca de 1h30 ajustando tudo. Às 19h, a casa abriu as portas ao público e, pontualmente às 20h, subimos ao palco. Apesar de ainda estar vazio naquele momento, foi um show muito bom! Saí com a sensação de que estamos evoluindo bastante como banda.

Eu, pessoalmente, já não fico mais nervosa em cima do palco. Minha performance e presença de palco estão melhorando, estou perdendo a vergonha e me sentindo cada vez mais confortável nesse lugar que antes me intimidava tanto. Também incluímos algumas músicas novas no repertório, o que deixou bem mais animada!
