An unforgettable weekend in São Paulo, Brazil [EN/PT]

Last Friday I embarked on a very special trip to São Paulo alongside my boyfriend (@michupa). This trip was a huge gift from him for my birthday and for our 3-year anniversary. We left Juiz de Fora at 9:30 pm on a night bus, already excited for the weekend ahead.

The road, although tiring, included a pit stop at Graal de Resende around 2:30 am. The place was crowded, as usually happens during these overnight trips, but it still served for us to stretch our legs and recharge a little. A few hours later, at 6 am, we arrived at São Paulo’s bus terminal, already feeling the excitement of being in a city that never stops.

We stayed in an Airbnb in the Santa Ifigênia area. I confess that before going I was a bit apprehensive about the location, since São Paulo can be intimidating for those who don’t know the city well, but the place positively surprised us. There was plenty of police presence on the streets, and the atmosphere made us feel safe, which allowed us to explore the neighborhood without worries.

The main reason for the trip was the I Wanna Be Tour festival, which took place on Saturday. It was simply unforgettable, especially because one of the attractions was my favorite band of all time: Good Charlotte. They were the main reason we planned everything, but the event also featured other incredible shows, like Fresno, Dead Fish, Story Of The Year, The Veronicas (bands that are also in my top 10), and several others that made the day even more intense. But this subject deserves its own space, because it was truly one of the most remarkable moments of my life, and I’ll write a dedicated post about it.

After the festival, exhausted, we went back to the Airbnb and ordered sushi for dinner. We were so hungry that we didn’t even remember to take pictures – something rare for me, but it just proves how destroyed we were after so many hours of music and emotion.

Sunday was reserved to explore the city a little more. We walked from the Airbnb to the traditional Rua 25 de Março, which was still empty because of the early hours, but still had that typical bustling vibe of popular shopping. From there we went to the Municipal Market, where we admired the grandeur of the place and the flow of tourists and locals. It was a quick but delightful immersion in São Paulo’s routine.

The cherry on top of Sunday, however, was my first time at a stadium to watch Corinthians, my beloved team. The match was the semifinal of the Brazilian Women’s Championship against São Paulo, and watching the girls’ qualification up close was truly thrilling. Seeing the team on the field, feeling the crowd’s energy, and celebrating that victory was one of those moments I’ll treasure forever. This is also a topic that will deserve another dedicated post.

After the game, we went straight to the bus terminal, where we left at 2 pm back to Juiz de Fora. The trip back was long, but we arrived home at 11:30 pm with a sense of fulfillment and our hearts full of special memories. It was an intense, busy, and tiring weekend, but absolutely unforgettable.

Na última sexta-feira embarquei em uma viagem muito especial para São Paulo ao lado do meu namorado (@michupa). Essa viagem foi um mega presente dele de aniversário e de 3 anos de namoro para mim. Saímos de Juiz de Fora às 21h30, em um ônibus noturno, já ansiosos pelo final de semana que nos aguardava.

A estrada, embora cansativa, foi marcada por um pit stop no Graal de Resende por volta das 2h30 da manhã. O local estava lotado, como costuma acontecer nessas madrugadas de viagem, mas mesmo assim serviu para esticarmos as pernas e repor um pouco das energias. Poucas horas depois, às 6h, desembarcamos na rodoviária de São Paulo, já sentindo a empolgação de estar em uma cidade que sempre pulsa.

Nos hospedamos em um Airbnb na região da Santa Ifigênia. Confesso que antes de ir fiquei um pouco apreensiva com a localização, já que São Paulo pode assustar quem não conhece bem a cidade, mas o lugar nos surpreendeu positivamente. Havia bastante policiamento nas ruas e o clima nos transmitiu segurança, o que fez com que nos sentíssemos à vontade para explorar a região sem preocupações.

O grande motivo da viagem foi o festival I Wanna Be Tour, que aconteceu no sábado. Foi simplesmente inesquecível, especialmente porque uma das atrações era a minha banda favorita da vida: Good Charlotte. Eles foram a principal razão de termos planejado tudo, mas o evento contou também com outros shows incríveis, como Fresno, Dead Fish, Story Of The Year, The Veronicas (que são bandas do meu top 10), além de várias outras que tornaram o dia ainda mais intenso. Mas esse assunto merece um espaço só dele, porque foi realmente um dos momentos mais marcantes da minha vida e vou escrever um post dedicado somente a isso.

Depois do festival, exaustos, voltamos para o Airbnb e pedimos um sushi para jantar. A fome era tanta que nem lembramos de tirar fotos – algo raro para mim, mas que só comprova o quanto estávamos destruídos depois de tantas horas de música e emoção.

O domingo foi reservado para conhecer um pouco mais da cidade. Saímos caminhando do Airbnb até a tradicional Rua 25 de Março, que estava vazia ainda pelo horário, mas ainda assim tinha aquele clima típico de compras populares. Dali seguimos para o Mercado Municipal, onde admiramos a grandiosidade do espaço e o vai e vem de turistas e paulistanos. Foi uma imersão rápida, mas bem gostosa na rotina paulistana.

A cereja do bolo do domingo, no entanto, foi a minha primeira vez em um estádio para assistir ao Corinthians, meu time do coração. A partida era a semifinal do Campeonato Brasileiro Feminino contra o São Paulo, e acompanhar de perto a classificação das meninas foi emocionante demais. Ver o time em campo, sentir a energia da torcida e poder celebrar aquela vitória foi um daqueles momentos que guardo para sempre. Esse também é um tema que vai render outro post só para ele.

Depois do jogo, seguimos direto para a rodoviária, de onde partimos às 14h em direção a Juiz de Fora. A viagem de volta foi longa, mas chegamos em casa às 23h30 com a sensação de dever cumprido e o coração cheio de memórias especiais. Foi um final de semana intenso, corrido e cansativo, mas absolutamente inesquecível.
