Starting the Day || Empezando el Día [Eng /Esp]

The morning began with the cozy crackling of firewood burning in the old fire pit. The fire, slow but steady, filled the corner with warmth and memories. Above it, an aluminum kettle began its daily ritual: heating the water for the mate, its soft whistle announcing the day was underway.

A few minutes later, the bread—freshly brought from the neighborhood bakery—found its place on the warm iron lid. The aroma of toasted bread and firewood mingled in the air, creating a simple but perfect scene. Nothing more was needed.

With the water ready, the mate was prepared carefully, as one does when there's no rush. A steady hand, a bombilla worn by years, and the first sip, which always tastes like home.

Thus, between the warmth of the fire, the crusty bread, and a good mate, life took a break to remind us that happiness can also be found in the simplest things.

La mañana empezó con el chisporroteo acogedor de la leña ardiendo en la vieja salamandra. El fuego, lento pero constante, llenó el rincón de calor y recuerdos. Encima, una pava de aluminio comenzaba su ritual diario: calentar el agua para el mate, mientras su silbido suave anunciaba que el día ya estaba en marcha.

Unos minutos después, el pan —recién traído de la panadería del barrio— encontró su lugar sobre la tapa de hierro caliente. El aroma a pan tostado y leña se mezcló en el aire, creando una escena simple pero perfecta. No hacía falta más.

Con el agua ya lista, el mate se preparó con cuidado, como se hace cuando no hay apuro. Una mano firme, una bombilla gastada por los años, y el primer sorbo, que siempre sabe a hogar.

Así, entre el calor del fuego, el pan crujiente y un buen mate, la vida se tomó un respiro para recordarnos que la felicidad también se encuentra en las cosas más simples.
