It wasn't just any fair. That morning, we woke up with the energy of those who know that what they're about to do has a greater meaning. It was the day of the charity sale, and between empanadas, slices of pizza, and a homemade sponge cake with colorful sprinkles, we put our hearts into it.
With my daughter by our side, as attentive as she was curious, we set the table in a corner of the main aisle. A white tablecloth, trays laden with food, and a handmade sign hanging on the wall that said it all: Empanadas, pizza, and sponge cake. Simple, delicious, ours.
She, with her little hands arranging the napkins, was my perfect companion. And as I wrapped slices, I thought about how much a community can achieve when it unites for a cause. Each person who came by not only took home a slice of pizza, but also a gesture of collaboration, a smile, a little help.
The sale was a success. Not because of the exact amount raised, but because of what it meant: effort, teamwork, and hope. Because when you cook with love, even pizza tastes better.
No fue una feria cualquiera. Esa mañana, nos levantamos con la energía de quienes saben que lo que están por hacer tiene un sentido más grande. Era el día de la venta solidaria, y entre empanadas, porciones de pizza y un bizcochuelo casero con confites de colores, pusimos todo nuestro corazón.
Con mi hija al lado, tan atenta como curiosa, preparamos la mesa en una esquina del pasillo principal. Un mantel blanco, bandejas repletas de comida y un cartel hecho a mano colgado en la pared que decía todo: Empanadas, pizza y bizcochuelo. Lo simple, lo rico, lo nuestro.
Ella, con sus manitos acomodando las servilletas, fue mi compañera perfecta. Y yo, mientras envolvía porciones, pensaba en cuánto puede lograr una comunidad cuando se une por una causa. Cada persona que se acercaba no solo se llevaba un pedazo de pizza, sino también un gesto de colaboración, una sonrisa, un granito de ayuda.
La venta fue un éxito. No por la cantidad exacta recaudada, sino por lo que significó: esfuerzo, trabajo en equipo y esperanza. Porque cuando se cocina con amor, hasta la pizza sabe mejor.
