The market building was quite deteriorated and the city council decided to have it fully refurbished, so the old booksellers and numismatists protested to have their shops and stalls temporarily relocated. The authorities decided that due to its geographical proximity, the best thing to do was to cover part of the avenue that starts at the market, and as the traders' meeting point was only on Sundays, the road would be closed to traffic and the traders would be protected from the rain and other atmospheric phenomena that might occur.

Si giráramos la cámara 180º nos toparíamos con el Mercat de Sant Antoni, un antiguo mercado en el que se celebra una feria dominical de venta de libros antiguos, de segunda mano así como de filatelia y numismática. El edificio del mercado estaba bastante deteriorado y el ayuntamiento de la ciudad decidió restaurarlo completamente, por lo que los antiguos libreros y numismáticos protestaron para que reubicaran temporalmente sus tiendas y paradas. Las autoridades decidieron que por proximidad geográfica lo mejor era cubrir una parte de la avenida que tiene su punto de partida en el mercado y como el encuentro de los comerciantes solo tenía lugar el domingo, la vía quedaría cerrada al tráfico y los comerciantes quedarían protegidos de la lluvia y otros fenómenos atmosféricos que se pudieran dar.
