Early morning light often creates extreme shadows, especially on narrow streets where the sunlight has very little angle.

These photographs were taken from a balcony in Barcelona's Raval district. The elevated viewpoint made the contrast between light and shadow even sharper.

They are my entry in the contest mentioned in the title.
