WEEKEND-ENGAGEMENT #161: What do you do when you swear?

Image created using CANVA.

Hello! I don't know what I will say for the introduction of this blog, as I have nothing to share for this weekend because I'm just staying inside my room and sleeping. Well, if you were going to ask me how I am now, I'm just trying my best to live and do something to make my life fun, though I always log in and out of social media.

I'm sorry if you are reading something boring and making yourself disgusted because you are reading the blog of a person who is suffering from depression and anxiety, and yes! I'm still in that era of my life, and it's really hard for me to deal with it.

For today's weekend experience, I started to hate 4 o'clock of the day.

Oh! While typing this part of my blog, I thought about my birthday. My Aunt and other relatives are asking me what I will do for my birthday, which will be 5 days from now. To be honest, I am not thankful for another year of my life, as my life right now is a mess. My Mom and I talked on the phone today, and we were talking about my birthdate, and she told me that I was born around 4:00 P.M. and I don't know why, but I started to hate it after she said that.

Anyway, speaking of time, I would also like to include in this blog a thought that came to mind. I don't know, but I noticed that the time on our clock is not fast anymore. Or maybe just me? I always look at the clock, and earlier, I thought that it was already 9 P.M. because usually when I look at the time like this, it's 9 P.M. but when I look at the clock, it's still 8 P.M. Why is that?

Mmm... Let me know in the comment section if you also have an experience like that.

So now, let me start answering the question for today's weekend engagement prompt. I really like this community because the questions or topics make me curious about what and how I will express my thoughts about them. Phew! Thanks to Galenkp because he is really good at thinking of topics that we can enjoy answering if we don't have anything to write about during the weekend.

There are a lot of good topics for this weekend, but I decided to answer this one:

Swearing
Where do you stand on swearing? Is there a time and place for it or do you think it should never be done? Discuss in 300+ words and use photos you took yourself where you can.

After I read the question, I remembered something from my Past. You know, when I was still a kid, I was not the same person as you know me now. Believe it or not, I am really a person who is very respectful to everyone I talk with. Even if the person I am talking to is just the same age as me, I never remove the words "Po" and "Opo" from my words, in every sentence that comes out of my mouth.

But then, one time, I accidentally heard a bad word on television, and of course, as a kid back then, I was curious about that word. So I asked my parents what that word was, and they told me to never say it again because it's bad. But then, years have passed, and I have learned bad words from my classmates. But when I say it, I always slap my mouth with both hands because I regret saying it and because I fear God.

But right now, it's different. I am old now. I am of the right age to swear, but that doesn't mean that it's Good. It's still bad. But as a human like you, I have feelings too that I can't stop, especially in the different situations that we are in.

I remembered my Parents always covering my ears every time they were fighting. They always cover my ears when they think that the situation in a scene that they are watching is bad. My Parents are always reminding me not to learn from adults if I hear them fighting in front of me because it's bad.

And so, I am also able to pass on what I have learned from my Parents to my younger cousins. Every time there's an adult fighting in front of us, I always cover their ears because I don't want them to hear the bad words that are coming from those adults mouths. Even when I swear in an unexpected situation and I am with my Younger cousins, I always tell them to cover their ears first and turn around before I swear and fight with someone I hate.

If you remember, I said on one of my previous blogs that my cousins were raised by Me and My older sister, right? as their parents are always busy working. I really don't want them to grow up to be like me, and so I am very proud that they are around 12–14 years old now and I have never heard them swear, talk back to adults, or post some bad things on social media.

I once warned them or told them that I would put charcoal inside their mouth if they did that. Well, I just learned this from my Grandpa. They said that when they caught us swearing, they would put Charcoal inside our mouths, but that has actually never happened to me right now, even if they always hear me swear when I play Mobile Legends. Lol

And as I grew older, I sometimes wanted to stop myself from swearing. I am worried that my soon-to-be children will inherit this behavior of mine, and I don't want that to happen. They should get my beauty, okay? And I hope that they should get the mindset from their father; that's why I also pick someone who is a genius or intelligent man, because I admit that I am lacking on that part. Haha

So if you swear, I hope you are in the safest place. I mean, do not swear in public, especially if there are some kids that could hear your words. If you swear, I hope you should remind those kids to cover their own ears or turn around so that they will never read or hear the bad words from your bad mouth, and this is one of the things that we should have done too late because we just let the children learn this thing. That's why there are a lot of younger people in this generation who lack respect for older people epecially to their parents.

So this is all for today's blog, and I hope you enjoyed it and learned something from it.

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME READING!

I loved your honesty in writing and I agree that children should not be exposed to swear words, much less from those close to them. The worst thing is that now they are even heard in famous songs.

Omg yes! I really hate those singers who compose music with shitty lyrics. Then, when some young people get into trouble because of their songs, the singers will not be responsible for that, and they will even blame it on the parents, saying that the parents didn't even look after their kids. Lol
