Hey. Sorry to hear you feel so uncomfortable in your life.
And then there's all the comparisons I make of myself to my friends. Some are married, some own BMWs, all of them have a job, some are at university.
When someone really wants to eat, they rush to a fridge, a shop, or a restaurant. If you don't own a BMW and you don't rush to earn money for a BMW, it means you don't actually want a BMW.
Focus on yourself and try to find your own path. Don’t evaluate life from within the box that society imposes on you. Having a car or being married was/is/will be zero.
Experiment with things outside of computers and internet. Maybe, you will like nature, plants, animals, helping people, cooking, arts, crafts. Try things. Travel somewhere. If you have money for alcohol, it means you have enough money for traveling, lol. You can find free hosts on couchsurfing.com to avoid paying for hotels, you can even hitchhike. Search on www.workaway.info - maybe some travel-and-work opportunities will work for you?
If you are depressed all the time, it means some of your physiological or psychological needs are unfulfilled. Find out what these needs are. Money is important too - find ways to earn sufficient minimum - just to feel better and become stronger.
Like, imagine a hunter who lived 3000 years ago and was successful and happy due to his natural ability to feel forest and wild animals, imagine this guy is born in our time in a big city, what would happen to this guy? Constant depression, most probably, without even understanding what is wrong. You can be a person like this hunter, or like a craftsman or a missioner from the 15th century, or an astronaut from the future. That's why it's important to understand yourself better. If you know yourself, you can craft a perfect environment for yourself.
