Tunes From Three Country Ballards

If there's one thing I've learnt about music, it would be the fact that the older you get, the more you appreciate them. I'd liken music to wine; the longer it stays the better it tastes.

My theme for this week in a nutshell is loyalty. For some reason, country music from the 60's had a feel of loyalty attached to them; at least the ones I've come across.

For as long as I can remember, I always woke up to these tracks playing from my dad's room. These songs felt very bland and uninteresting to listen to. Fast forward to many years later, I appreciate these songs better because I totally connect with the lyrics and the tempo of the songs.

As you must have guessed, all the tunes today are country songs. If you were born in the mid 60's , you'd appreciate these tunes better.

I take it on home by Charlie Rich(1962):

One thing I like about the song is flow. This song is perfect for recuperating, who am I kidding, most country songs from the the 60's are perfect for this course.

"But I back it on up, turn it around, take it on home"

This line from the song portrays a different kind of loyalty. A type that is totally rare to find in the present days.

Stand by your man by Lynn Anderson (1969):

Lynn summarises the fact that being a loyal and submissive woman can be very taskful but if you indeed love your partner, you would stand by them. A little tip for the ladies.

I feel that if everyone listened to songs like these, the world would honestly be a better place; more love to go around.

Leaving on a Jet plane by Bobby Bare(1966):

This is my favourite of today's trio. It tells a tale of a man that is leaving his wife and home with a heavy heart and not certain of his return. It feels like the type of song that people who are constantly travelling round the world , leaving their family at home, would sing. Quite comforting.

While on my little 'country music' escapade, I realised that songs from the 60's had very long titles. The shortest title I saw was 'daddy' by Donna Fargo, the rest were nothing less than four words. One thing I can say is that the artists then were very expressive and hence, their songs were easy to connect with.

Sometimes, I wonder how it felt like to live in the 60's, enjoying good music and living life to the fullest. What do you think?

These are some tunes for the #threetunetuesday by @ablaze. It's Tuesday and a great day to share tunes with fellow music lovers. Don't hesitate to join in the fun.

With love, wongi ✨

Oh yes! There is so much truth to that. When I was younger I would have scoffed about listening to Charlie Rich. Now that I'm ... well ... not as young ... I absolutely appreciate it. Thanks for sharing! And understanding! 😁

My favorite is the last one, but I've always listened to it with John Denver. I also like the music of Keny Rogers. Regards

Country music is very nice and very underrated nowadays. It's not like I would listen to it everyday but it's a time to time pleasure. This type of music is relaxing and well done.

Stand by your man is my favorite from this trio, very nice.

Thanks for recommending these great songs! ✨

I do agree that songs from the '60s are super great and expressive. The singers put lots of effort and emotion into every word heard and it is beautiful and can't be tamed.

I love the music presented... Geez. I love them!
