Just a few days ago, I made a declaration that the next slouch beanie I was going to be making was going to be accessorized and even more stunning than the previous one I made and my golden opportunity came:)

I recently reached out to a popular Tik Tok celebrity from my state for a potential PR collaboration. The celebrity who already wanted to get a slouch beanie agreed to a collaboration, not an entirely free one though. We discussed the specifics of our collaboration and soon after, I got to work.

I will make an entirely different post narrating the specifics of the collaboration and how it all turned out but today, I want to share with you the process of making this beautiful slouch beanie with accessories.

PROCEDURE

To begin making this crochet slouch beanie, I made a magic circle and into the circle, I worked twelve double crochet stitches. The client mentioned that she didn’t want visible holes in her beanie so I used two strands of acrylic yarn for the creation of the masterpiece.

I pulled the magic ring close and ended the first row with a slip stitch. For the second row, I chained two and made an increase into every space in row one by working two double crochet stitches into every space. This brought the stitch count to twenty-four. The initial chain two I made doesn't count as a stitch.

For row three, I made an increase after working one normal stitch. This means one stitch, then one increase. For row four, I made increases after working two single stitches. I repeated this pattern till the sixth row. I ended all rows with a slip stitch and started all new rows with a chain of two.

After the sixth row, I got the desired width for the beanie and from here, I maintained the stitch count till the very end of the row. For normal sizes, a total of twenty-eight to thirty rows would do but I made about thirty-six rows for my client who wanted the beanie to slough properly.

Finally, I made a row of single crochet stitches to give the slouch beanie a neater finish. Next, I sewed in the loose ends and it was time to accessorize the beanie.

Before starting, I had no plan as to how the accessories were going to be placed but I started anyway. I inserted two safety pins which were specifically requested for by my client and then I decided to sew in the triangles using a needle and black thread. This part was a bit tricky and I may have pricked myself once or twice but eventually, I got a hang of it.

Some of the pearls were placed in the safety pins and clipped onto the beanie while I sewed the other pearls on the body of the beanie. This brought me to the end of this creation. One thing I can say for sure is that I discovered some of my hidden talents, hehe.

Celebrity Girlfriend rocking her slouch beanie

I don't think I’ve ever been this excited to make a crochet item but the joy was just so overwhelming. The best part? The owner loved it very much and was just so eager to try it once I finished making it. She also mentioned that she would be getting another beanie in a different colour and I look forward to that order.

I did a more detailed video tutorial on my tik tok page which you can find here. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this crochet slouchy beanie. Is it something you would try or it’s a ‘nay’ for you?.
