How To Make Crochet Leaf Earrings.

Hello everyone ✨

Someone very dear to me requested eight pairs of crochet earrings which she would add to her bridesmaids gift boxes and I was absolutely euphoric. The idea of each and every one of her bridesmaids taking home a crochet accessory seemed like a very beautiful and thoughtful thing.

Without delay, I sent her a few samples and she picked some of her favourites . I started working on personalized samples to see if I still got it in me and believe you me, I still do.

Today, I'll be sharing with you one of the earring samples and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. Also, I'd like to mention that the pieces I would be sending out would be in colours different from the one I used for this post.

Procedure

This has been one of the easiest crochet accessories I've ever made. It is cost efficient, takes little time and requires basic crochet skills.

First, I start off with a slip knot and then proceed to make a chain of twelve.

Next, I skip the very first stitch and into the next chain space, I make a single crochet stitch. I repeat this for the next nine chain spaces.
1000858857.png
At the end, I'm left with one chain space. Into this remaining chain space, I make three single crochet stitches together. This would serve as the peak.

I continue on the other side of the project with nine more single crochet stitches. This is the perfect time to work over any loose strands. With that, I'm done with the first row.
1000858858.png
For row two, I chain one, turn my work over and into the back loops only, I work ten single crochet stitches. This should lead me right back to the peak.

Into the peak, I work three single crochet stitches and then continue with nine more single crochet stitches down the row. With that, I'm done with row two.
1000858859.png
From row two to row eight, I pretty much repeat the same pattern: chain one, turn the work over, make ten single crochet stitches when ascending, three into the peak and nine when descending.

If this pattern is followed judiciously, making this pair of earrings should be a breeze.
1000858866.png
On the last row, I place a stitch marker into the second stitch of the peak to signify where I would be placing my earring hook.

Next, I chain one to end the row, cut off the yarn and sew in the loose ends. I almost lost a tooth doing this but that's a story for another day.

Finally, I attach my metal hooks to the apex and the earrings are ready to be worn.

I finished making the pair of crochet earrings in under fifteen minutes and this includes sewing in the loose ends and attaching the crochet hooks.

If there's one thing about crochet accessories, it would be the fact that they always make a statement. Imagine pairing these particular earrings with a beautiful dress? Its uniqueness will definitely stand out.

I love these. I used to have a pair just like this, same dark shade of red even...I gifted them away. I have a similar pair of green ones that I made, but in a different stitch...
