Hive Anniversary|| It's Been Four Years Already!

Waking up to notifications from hivebuzz celebrating my milestones is typically a source of great joy, yet none evokes satisfaction than my Hive anniversary. Each year, this event serves as a poignant reminder that I have been an engaged participant in this remarkable community; a journey nothing short of extraordinary.

Though I intend for this post to be brief, I find it necessary to reflect on how far I have come.

Approximately four years ago, I was an inquisitive teenager, eager to make productive use of my time as I searched for a sense of purpose. My on-boarder appeared just when I needed him the most. At first, my foray into the Hive blockchain was daunting as I jumped head first into a fiercely competitive environment brimming with talent. While my first week here was encouraging, the subsequent weeks were very challenging.

Giving up would have been easier; especially if I entered Hive with hopes of becoming a billionaire overnight just by writing but my motivations transcended material gain. That was the moment when I made a deliberate decision to invest my time and energy in Hive, deviating from the choices my peers were making at the time.

Gradually, I began to get a hang of the ecosystem. My initial understanding was limited to the Proof of Brain community given that I was onboarded using the community’s frontend. However, As I explored further, I discovered other communities and this enabled me to explore, expand my interests and connect with inspiring individuals.

Much of what I know today stems from a persistent curiosity and the willingness to learn, unlearn and relearn. I occasionally imagine how my trajectory might have differed, but ultimately, I am deeply grateful for every twist and turn.

Over the years, Hive has afforded me the chance to meet and collaborate with remarkable people from across the globe, receiving invaluable mentorship and support. Through the interactions with these individuals, I have grown not only as a writer but as an individual. Need I mention that these interactions have also enabled me broaden my horizon both on and off the blockchain.

If someone had told me four years ago that I would achieve what I have today, I may not have believed them. Now, however, I am convinced that with perseverance and the right opportunities, I (and you too) can attain even greater heights.

To Myself

You have endured countless moments of doubt, frustration and challenge and through it all, you have remained steadfast. You have persisted through adversity, dealt compassionately with things within your control and have cried over those beyond your control. You have cultivated meaningful relationships, built invaluable networks and repeatedly surpassed your own expectations. This resilience and growth are truly something worth celebrating and I take great pride in your evolution.

Join me in raising a toast to four exceptional years on Hive and also to the adventures that lie ahead. This post also serves as a gentle reminder to every Hivean who comes across it; remember to stay curious and consistent and you never can tell where you find yourself.
