[Eng-Esp] My First Attempt At A Crochet Mesh Corset.
English
Hello everyone ✨
Inspiration can come from anything as far as needlework is involved and with crochet, it starts with a slip knot. When I started my crocheting journey in January 2023, I had no form of formal tutorship. I was just an eager young lady willing to try out new things. I completed my first project which was a blue beanie and I was so elated; not because the beanie was perfect, but because I had officially completed my first project.

I kept testing the waters but it felt like I wasn't on the right track and so I stopped for a while. Recently, I had a discussion with @tengolotodo and he recommended that I posted my crochet projects in needlework Monday community; this was after he saw my beanie of course😅. So this is going to be my first post in this community.
I'm still very much a crochet rookie as I still struggle to get a perfect chain stitch but I'm not one to give up easily and as such, I thought of embarking on a new project. As I was scrolling through the net to get ideas for a project, I came across this mesh top and I instantly got an idea of what to do
I decided to make a mini mesh top that can be worn as a semi corset.
Steps
There were a few steps I followed before getting to the final result.

First, I made a chain stitch that is 19cm and 21cm when straightened.

After the long chain, I used a half double crochet to make the mesh. For each mesh, I chained four and the pattern was repeated till I got to my 15th row.

On the 15th row, I made the hand of the shoulder and the neck of the mesh top.

After making the neck, the pattern pretty much continued.
When I was done making the front and the back, I went ahead to use slip stitches to join the sides.

After joining from the bottom with five stitches, I made a three row hand to go. I didn't want to make the hand long as it is supposed to be worn with shirts and gowns .

With that, I came to the end of my project. I hid all loose ends with a crocheting needle to give it a proper finishing. I am definitely going to repeat this project but in a different colour and with a different approach too.
It took me three days to finish this project because I had to do other tasks in a day. I am really pleased with the final result even though I can see some glaring mistakes. Like I always say, it isn't perfect, but it's something. I am very open to constructive criticism and correction as it would help me to do better.

@wongi
Crotchet is a bit hard for me when I give it a trial.
I needed to ignore
So you totally gave up on it?
Yes
I couldn't get the procedure and the right teacher dear
Too had. I hope you found something else you like doing
Yes dear friend
Nice meeting you
Same here
Wow, I want one too🥺🥺🥺.
You do🥺
Three days doesn't seem to long for project like this, nice job @wongi!
I have never learned to make on a crochet hook. I can knit a little, but when I do, I am either nervous because something doesn't come out and I am 'losing the eyes' or I fall asleep during the process. I have no idea how people do it. I am very envious of your patience!
One funny fact is that I crochet whenever I feel like I need to ease up. Other people may take hikes and stuff like that but I locate a yarn and a crocheting hook and my earpods of course😅; sometimes, when I've gotten used to the pattern, I zone out while still crocheting.
It can be defeating at first but along the line, it gets easier.
Yeah, I would take music with me and just go for long walk, no matter the time or weather.
I am glad you have your way to calm yourself down, and chill:)
A way I discovered recently 😊
Thank you for stopping by strega dear
This is one skill I would've loved to learn, well done
Thank you so much. It's never too late to start learning.

Welcome to the NeedleWorkMonday Community @wongi! I’m so glad @tengolotodo sent you our way. 😊
I love to see when one gets excited about learning how to crochet and trying their hand at new projects. This is really a cute outcome and looks really neat. For you to have just started in January this is really impressive. I’m looking forward to seeing your next one.
Every week needleworkers from around the globe get together to share our work, patterns, tips, ideas and shortcuts as we support one another. Our goal is to inspire the Hive blockchain to give crafting a try.
On Monday’s we use the #needleworkmonday tag and on all other days we use the #needlework tag without the word Monday attached. We share and post our work directly from the Community page.
We encourage our members to share about their needlework life with us. We love hearing stories and what types of things inspired your projects. We challenge you to put some feeling and emotion into your publications and help us get to know the needler behind the fabric.
Feel free to share photos of your work but it’s optional if you choose to share the steps with us (we do require you share the step process in at least one of your posts for validation purposes as you have already done here). If you just want to needle and share about that time we’d love to hear about it. 😉
For more information about what we do and for our posting guidelines please visit our FAQs.
Thank you ~
Thank you so very much for the warm welcome. It feels good to know that there's a community where I can share my needle works with every week. It's an utmost honor to be here.
Thank you once again 😊✨
My pleasure ~ 😉
Thank you and it shows that I do have my uses from time to time!
This look complex, if its Looking complex, how would doing it be like. Nice job.
Doing it isn't actually as complex as it looks. With practice, it gets easier.
I appreciate your stopping by ✨
Nice creative work. I salute you for the patience in weaving it from the start to the finish :)

That's right😊. Next time would definitely be better.
This is a very well written tutorial. My grandmother taught me the very basics of crochet when I was a child, but I never became proficient.
I am sure that the next one will flow much faster. The photos are good illustrations, too.
Popped in from #dreemport
Thank you for popping in.
I'm glad that the tutorial was easy to understand. Have a pleasant day😊✨
My pleasure!
