Crochet Halter Granny Square Corset.
Hello Creatives✨
In the beginning of the year, I made many screenshots of crochet items that I simply liked and thought I could recreate someday. Today, I'd be sharing with you one of such items that I saved in my gallery in hopes if owing it someday––a crochet halter granny square corset.
Materials Needed
- Yarn
- 4.0mm crochet hook
- Darning needle
- A pair of scissors
Procedure
This project is made up basically of granny square stitches that are all coupled together to form a whole.
To make the granny square, I start by making a magic ring. Into the magic ring, I make four shells of double crochet stitches each separated by a chain two. I end this row with a slip stitch, fasten off and change colour.
For the next row, I begin at the corner with a chain three and insert another double crochet stitch into that same corner. Since it's a corner, I make two chains and add another trio of double crochet stitches(shell) into the very same corner.
To move to the next space, I make a chain of one and insert a double crochet stitch into the next space. The next space is a regular space and this requires only a trio of double crochet stitches(a shell) .
This is pretty much the entire pattern. Into every corner space, insert a shell, a chain two and another shell. Into every other space, insert just one shell and before moving to another space, make a chain of one.
I repeat this pattern for every row, making sure to change the yarn colour on every row. Also, one can decide to start their next row from any space but I realized that starting from a corner gets the job done faster and it's also very effective when it comes to sewing in loose yarns after making the granny square. Also ensure to work over the loose ends to reduce the workload.
Using this pattern, I make a total of twelve granny squares. This number of granny squares would fit sizes six to ten as the case may be.
Next, it was time to couple the granny square stitches. I do the coupling using single crochet stitches in the front and back loops of the two granny squares respectively. One may also chose to use slip stitches for this part, which would give a less visible joints but since I love seeing those joints/spines and since I worked with thin strands of yarn, I used single crochet stitches.
Finally, this corset was brought together using a long chain of black yarn. I like how well this crochet halter granny square corset came out. It goes really well with loose-fitting shirts. I guess the time has come to wipe the dust off all of my loose-fitting shirts.
What do you think of this new addition to my crochet collection? Would you wear this? and if yes, what would you pair it with?

This is so pretty 😍 and the color combinations are just perfect. I am not so good with colors and wonder how you guys manage to mix them as such. Thanks for sharing this piece and I hope that you will be able to make all the others on your list.
To be honest, I wasn't sure of the colour combinations myself but I'm really glad it turned out great.
Thank you so much😊
Beautiful work on the crochet halter. Really colorful, stylish and skillfully made.
