THE SEASONS OF LIFE: WHY TIMING MATTERS IN YOUR SUCCESS JOURNEY

Life is in phases and you must realize that there is time for everything in life to be able to make considerable progress in life. We can liken our life to that of a farmer: there is time for preparing the land that will be used for planting, there is time for sowing, there is time for weeding and watering the plants, and there is time for harvesting. In all of these it is impossible for a farmer to plant yam and harvest rice. It is exactly what you sew and nutured that you will reap.

Whereas, it is possible for two different farmers to plant yam or corn and have different results. Why is it so? This is mostly as a result of the time invested in caring and grooming the crops as well as the kind of seed that was planted. If you don't weed when you are supposed to do it, it will affect the overall quality of your harvest. If you don't fumigate and apply manure or chemicals when necessary your harvest will be affected.

As an individual, family, business, community or country at large, there are decisions that we took in the past that are responsible for our current condition. Well, it is no doubt that sometimes things don't go as planned in life however there is a great chance that your decisions and actions will be a determinant of your status in life.

Let's take example, a man that is married with three kids who instead of working hard to provide for his family will spend all day sleeping and lazying about the street. Not only that he will waste all his money on gambling and drinking when he's supposed to be planning on profitable things to do for his family and himself. Will there be need to consult a soothsayer or specialist to know the cause of the man's problems in years to come when this kind of man becomes a subject of ridicule in his home and society. The reason for his failure is apparent. It is simply because "he didn't plan for a bountiful harvest".

There are quite a number of reasons that may contribute to not having "a bountiful harvest" in life especially in your family, career, finances and so on. In other words, there are some boxes that need to be ticked to get the best results out of life such as doing the right thing at the right time, doing the right thing the right way. You must ensure you do the necessary things that are in sync with achieving your goals. You must by all means get rid of every form of distractions that will shift your attention from your goal. Then, you must plan adequately on how you want to achieve the lined up goals. You must decide on effect methodology that will give you the best overall results.

In addition, you need to conduct periodic assessment on yourself to know whether you are doing the right thing or not. You should be able to decipher if you are placing your priorities right or not. If you fail to do the right thing at the right time there is a high possibility that you will not get a good outcome. Timing is a key factor in achieving success. As an individual you should not do what you are supposed to do as a teenager when you are in your late 40s. As a student you need to study at the right time to pass your examinations in flying colours - not studying on the day of examination. As a business owner you must invest at the right time so as to be able to make good sales.

If you know the essence of time you should be afraid when you are wasting your time. Every second and every minute should be used to the fullest doing the right thing. Time is life and it is what you do with your time that will reflect in your life.

As I conclude, take a short moment to reflect on yourself, career, academics, finance and every aspect of your life. Are you sowing the right seeds? Are you sure of having a bountiful harvesting?
