Towards the tunnel - Monomad Challenge

Today, on a whim, I went with some old friends to a spot in the city of San Diego, Venezuela, that I never imagined I'd ever see. It's what looks like the remains of the railway line and station that was supposed to run through practically all of Venezuela. It was a project from decades ago, but in the end, it was never finished, leaving only structures, stations, and vast stretches of railway tracks.

I used to see these tracks when I passed by on the bus during my travels, and I always thought that it was probably too far away or impossible to walk to. But it was actually closer than I thought, and quite accessible. You just had to walk a long way; of course, it's a bit isolated from the city, but at the same time, very close.

During this journey, we passed through two tunnels and a train station. I took the opportunity to capture some silhouettes, especially of my friends, but also a bit of the landscape, which blends what appears to be abandonment with a glimpse of nature in this area, characterized by dry lands nestled among a series of low mountains. It was quite an adventure, without a doubt.

Nice photography I like all the shots! Especially the two of your friends, the dry road and the birds flying above. 😍

Very good photos, by the way I love tunnels too, especially those that are out of service so you can take photos without fear of being hit by a train

The tunnel entrance in the first photo looks like a hidden portal to another time. the graffiti tells the story too.
