Lights, cats and action

Until a few years ago, my wife, my cats, and I lived in another city in an apartment that always claimed to have a good amount of natural light. This was due to the apartment's location just as the setting was dusk, and of course, these were perfect opportunities to take photos from my home with a good amount of sunlight. However, we now live in another apartment that doesn't have that privilege, and many times, the light that enters is very scarce. Even so, I usually take advantage of those small rays of light that do enter to create some photographic compositions, especially with my cats.

I usually take advantage of the moments when my cats are attracted to the light, and as you can see in the photos featured in this post, I manage to capture details of their faces. But more interesting to me is that I can capture that contrast between what is partially illuminated and what is otherwise in the dark. For me, it's a bit of magic in photography, composing in this way and highlighting certain characteristics, in this case, of the cats.

So, as I often say, it's a game with the light, but also with cats, because they can be very restless. They can suddenly spend a while right in the light that comes in, and they can also be constantly moving, so it also requires a little patience in capturing those scenes where I seek to contrast those motifs. And today was one of those perfect days for taking this type of photographs, which for this occasion are all composed in color, although I had previously tried black and white and of course they turned out perfect. But today I wanted to highlight everything I've said about the color and the totality of the colors, varying those temperature ranges and the impact of light on the lens a little between images.

However, for a future post, I have another series of monochrome photos, because this type of composition is always a must. Just as I love it, many are also attracted to the visual world of black and white.
