From the jungle in monochrome - Monomad Challenge

Because of yesterday, when I went with my wife to a jungle island near where I live, but in the city, I've taken many photographs of the place. I already talked a little about that island as a general topic, but today I want to show you these photos, where of course the main theme is nature, with the exception of two photographs of a helicopter that was flying over the area and another that is a partial silhouette of the city of Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela, seen from the island where I was. As I said, it is not an island in the sea, but an island in the river, with very characteristic jungle vegetation.

Many of these natural motifs are details of plant species found in the island's forested area. Of course, I selected those motifs that were partially illuminated. This is because, due to the large number of trees in that area, even under intense sunlight, very little light enters the image. Therefore, I tend to take advantage of those small rays that somehow find their way to certain subjects, and this is the perfect way to compose these images.

Even so, I adhere to more standard parameters typically used in brightly lit conditions, but with the difference that I focus on those details in those subjects, which of course are contrasted with their completely dark surroundings, against a great diversity of plants that cannot be perceived in the photographs but are present. Therefore, this series has that approach, a perspective on nature in black and white, with selective focus and lighting.
