Waves Between Mountains: My Memorable Adventure in Hidden Valley Mountain and Wavepool, Cebu

Around this time of year, in October, I could really remember a lot of trips I have had last year, travels that are memorable and means so much to me than any other trips from the previous years. I am a different person whenever I visit and passby to places for I always keep it valued and see it as chance of growing. Those places are witness of my growth before today that's why I always put the things I have learned on a particular place first before sharing my experience whenever I am asked about it.

Tonight, I have come to recollect on my memorable experience in Hidden Valley Mountain and Wavepool—one of the most visited tourist spot in Pinamungajan, Cebu. I will try to give as many details as I can remember for this blog and I hope you'll enjoyed your read.

In Barangay Lamac of Pinamungajan, established there is Hidden Valley Mountain and Wavepool Resort that gives tourists a top-tier experience of fun, relaxation, and nature. The valley is surrounded by the lush greenery and rich nature of the towering mountains, presenting tourists a refreshing and peaceful ambiance that is far from what you experience on the noise of the city. In my experience, the travel from Cebu City to the resort approximately takes around two hours, but I promise that the the drive itself to the place is already a perfect adventure, with sublime green landscapes and forest views you can witness during the ride that make the trip very worth it before arriving to the actual destination. If you love nature, the ride and the place is for you already.

By the time we arrived, we are serenaded by the place's most popular attraction—the wave pool, aside from kind people who were already there before us. For your informatiom, this wavepool is known to be the first wave pool in Cebu and garnered the title as one of the largest in the province until now. This wavepool triggered my ignorance during the experience as it was my first experience of wavepool. When I asked about the guide, as to how the wavepool worls, I learned that the artificial waves are produced by an air-blower system that's why when you are in the pool, you'll have the feeling of swimming at the beach in the middle of the mountains. Imagine how crazy it was to experience this simulation.

Most of the people who visits here are families and group of friends, which the latter I was with during the visit. Visitors enjoy spending their time in the wavepool, even if they are dipping the whole day, laughing and making memories as they ride the waves like one in a beach. Around the wavepools are pools for children which are small ones. There are pools also for adults which are calmer than the wavepools—one for people who prefer a calm water experience. I have read a lot about this place from other travel bloggers and we share the same viewpoint abour the place, of how the perfect picturesque of the mountain backdrop gives something special look to the resort, which other typical resort destinations cant give.

Talking about the travel information, Hidden Valley Mountain and Wavepool Resort is approximately 15 minutes away from poblacion or central town of Pinamungajan. If you are a visitor travelling from the city, the most common route is to ride a bus at the Cebu South Bus Terminal heading toward Toledo City or via Lutopan. You can then ask the conductor to stop at the Bunga-Lutopan junction. From there, you can take a motorcycle ride, or commonly known as habal-habal (a motorcycle altered to load more commuters) to the said resort. From my experience, the path to the Hidden Valley Mountain and Wavepool was not that smooth, so I suggest you wear comfortable clothing and visit the place at daytime so that you can have a good sight to the road. If you are riding your own vehicle, I advise that you prepare yourselves an uphill drive which could be chaotic especially if you have people who rides at the back of your vehicle but it is manageable. Even if the trip to the destination is rough, the beauty of the place makes the ride worth it and the tiredness you gain from the trip vanished by the time you arrive and dip to the wavepool.

We paid 3.5$ pesos for adults if you want to access all facilities in the resort and 3$ for kids. If you want to avail the wave pool only, it is 2.63$ for adults, and 2.19$ for kids.Cottages and function halls can be found also in the resort which are for rent and are perfect for families or milestones celebrations. There are air-conditioned rooms if toursits wish to have an overnight stay of the redort. Prices may vary such as a room for family of four people would cost approximately around ₱3,000 per night, while larger dorms and private villas are also available at varying rates.

Aside from its iconic pools, other place gives you an experience of adventure and relaxation. There are areas one the resort where you can take quite walk, have a breathe of the cool mountain air, and a spot to enjoy the view of the landscape.

I will also give you heads up as to.how the wavepool operates. In my experience, the staffs would only turn on the wave machine if there is at least ten people inside the pool. Waves in the pool are created in intervals, so it’s better to ask the staff about the schedule when you arrive.

That is everything I can remember about Hidden Valley Mountain and Wavepool Resort. I was able to enjoy a short time of relaxing experience on the resort with my friends and I guess the people I was with made the trip more important and memorable. The beauty of Hidden Valley Mountain and Wavepool Resort was one for the books, as well as the experience you'll have om the area. Nothing could beat my best water experience in the middle of a mountain than the valley I visited a year ago. Trees, rough path, and pools of perfection are what make it perfect to and reasonable to pay hundreds for entrance and thousands for room accomodation.

After a day, we headed back to the place of my friend om the city and there we recollected our moments of laughter and deep talks on the valley. It made our friendship even more deep and meaningful. Indeed, places like this not only gives you perfect nature experience but also teaches you how to value friendship and build deeper connection to relevant people in our lives.
